my son had his bcg jab yesterday. after we came home, he was ok, but in the eveing & night, during his sleep, he will suddendly cry out loud & practically screaming! my confinement lady took some time to calm him down. even earlier, there were about 3times this happened again. i dont know y suddendly he's like that, could it be the jab that caused him to react this way?
is your son having a fever?
sometimes they get fever after injections.
also, maybe you can check whether the injection area is okay and not swollen and try to avoid that area when carrying, changing and bathing baby.
baby should be okay after 2 days.
Isn't BCG taken immediately after birth while still in hospital?
hmm my dear son just took his 2nd hep b this morning and just now in the evening, he suddenly keep wail during his feeding... i was so scared! then mother in law asked hubby izzit i carry him and hold on his right thigh which was injected... true enough, when i carry him upright, he stop crying...
my son was underweight when born thus bcg was not given to him that time.
i tried to calm him down by carrying him closed to me when he cried so loud, sometimes it works, sometimes he just cried so loud that i dont know what to do! i even talked to him by calming him down, sometimes it works.
yes, he was abit feverish yesterday, i took his temperature earlier, is normal. i guess maybe he's feeling pain at buttock area cos thats where pediatrician jab him.
i think is pain... cos we adult take injection also will feel pain and numb after a few hours..
Oh, it could be the pain. You must change the diapers frequently to prevent infection. & must keep the wound area clean.
Which side did they jab? For my son it was on the left buttock, so let him lie on his right side will help
