Do you still keep the formula milk if it was open for more than 1 month?

hi mummies,

i bought a tin of enfalac as supplement for my ds in end feb & used for a wk. aft tat when my milk supply is enough i stop using it and kept till now. then realise that the milk needs to be consume within 1 more after opening.. just wana check if anyone keep your formula milk for more than a mth? my ds is only turnin 2 mth this 23rd & im on TBF nw.. so wont be using formula for at least another few mths..

I don't think it can be used after opened for more than a month. Bad for babies also. My DS is on FM, & he always finishes the tin within a week. So I won't have the problem of expired milk.

Same here my ds always finish his milk powder within 2-3wks even it is those Biggest tin size n even if got left over ones i will discard it coz no pt bcoz of those slight $$ tat might coz stomach upset for the infant which will cause even MORE trouble for urself as they get MORE cranky when they r sick.

do u guys think i can give away to mummies? the milk is opened on 26 feb and only used for a mth.. wonder if any mummies would want cos feel abit wasted as left at least 90%.. or i should just discard it away?

pls dun even tink of giving away to ppl. It opened more than a mth+++ u should discard it instead of giving away to ppl. If nt the FM u gave away will cause prob to other bbs which i believe u wont wan tat to happen rite? If u think u wont wan to feed ur bb frm tat tin of FM tat will harm ur bb then the more u shouldnt gif other bbs.

So sorry if i sound harsh earlier post but i am juz trying to let u knw wat r the consequences n there might b mummies same as u which they haf no idea cannot use those FM powder tat r opened for more than a mth so end up might get it frm u n gif their bb. im also havin the same problem.. brought friso gold for my DD the 2nd night home and up till now only use less than 5 scoops.. won see me using them liao.. haiz.. waste my money...

By rite when it opened already it can only keep up to 1mth as the FM tin will indicate too N it aso provided tat u dun drip any water into the FM tin.

As sum ppl r quite careless like my dh when he scoop the FM, he nv realized there r water vapour frm the bottle dripping in the FM tin WHICH will cause bacteria n if got water drip in the FM tin then scoop out those FM. U will notice when water drip in, the FM will harden so remove the FM tat r harden so tat it wont cause bacteria.

It is ok to open on day 1 as u used once only n stop then continue to use 2wks later BUT anything left 1 mth after the tin of FM is opened haf to discard it.

Bo bian 1 lah coz u should haf given away earlier at least wont waste the $$ BUT then waste $$ is better than let ur DD consume it which will make her fall sick end up u will need to spend $$ again for ur DD see doc.

I believe u will agree wif me tat health is more important than $$ rite?
