Domique, waterproof ones then ok ? pee easy to clean whahahaha. there are a lot of waterproof ones inside.. the attractive pt hehe
i just manage to demat Cookie~~ his undercoat have been very very matted.. i spend almost 3 weeks to groom him EVERYDAY!! all thanks to my father in law's "grooming skills"...
*all the time, dear daughter was "helping" me... lol... she grab all his mattes.. my poor Cookie.. "siam-ing" all the way..
i have a shih tzu and i have been keeping her apart frm my baby (for hygiene purpose) since i gave birth like a month ago.
few days ago, i noticed there is this red round rashes around my baby's neck, went to net and search for some info, to my horror, it cld be ringworm which my baby cld have gotten it frm the dog.
i just need to ask all mummies with doggies here, have anyone experience this before?
and also, when the baby starts to crawl and walk, hw did you all ensure that hygiene is kept always?
my dog loves to lick the floor every now and then, and there is no way that I can watch over the dog to stop her frm licking the floor.... or is licking the floor and hving the baby crawling or walking where it has been licked is fine??
need advise please.....
You can clean the floor with babyganics organic cleaners that are safe for baby and dog.
Actually, it's quite all right if you keep your dog clean and wash it once a week, make sure it's dewormed etc.
Having a dog is actually good for the baby's immune system cos they will less likely to have allergies.
my gal have been playin with both my silkies since day 1~~ saliva (both dear daughter n dogs) is EVERYWHERE.. lol.. i'm not worried bout my gal getting sick becuz of that.. (instead i'm worried dear daughter might pass cough/ flu to them.. hahaha..) IMHO, as long as they are all healthy, there is no reason for me to seperate their playtime..
you might want to bring your baby to the pediatrician n check the rashes..
n also it might be good if you can bring your ST to a (reputable) vet n have a thorough check up for other possible illnesses that may be transmitted to your baby..
o, another plus point, you can ask them for opinion for the hygiene upkeep also.. =)
When I discovered I was pregnant, we brought my dog to the vet for a thorough check up & also to seek advise on what vaccinations my dog to get to minimise any disease. Ended up with quite a few jabs & a whole list of organic/natural cleaners we can use.
Flea/tick prevention became neem oil & citronella oil.
Floor cleaner became organic white vinegar.
Shampoo for my dog became organic doggie shampoo as I am the one bathing her, so we want to minimise my exposure to chemicals also.
Basically we had to make some changes in terms of hygiene (clean more often like mopping the floor daily, washing hands after patting the dog, etc).
Empty vessels make the most noise
stonston, where did you get the neem oil and citronella oil?
isn't it very expensive to use organic white vinegar to clean the floor? Can use normal white vinegar or not?
arrrgg my stupid dog always go lick my girl's face till red red.. her skin very sensitive. same as me lol. when my dog lick me my skin also red red...
I bought them online from iherb. cheaper than buying from local organic stores.
Citronella oil I also use it as natural insect repellent for my boy. a few drops on the clothes/shoes/stroller will do
organic white vinegar is not exp. a 1L bottle is around $12. you only need a tablespoon of it (around 10ml) to half a pail of water for mopping floor. 1 bottle can last very long!
my silkies give smoochies to my gal everywhere!! all over the face, feet, hands etc etc...
while my gal love to grab their mouth, tongue, fur etc..
so i think they "you lai you wang".. hahaha
anyone tried bathing their doggies with a lil one "helping" in the bathroom???
that day i bathed Cookie with dear daughter on my lap... both of us got sooooo wet~~ hahaha..
