I think its 'normal' when it comes to breastfeed. Both my boys are more awake at night for the first 2-3 weeks and hungrier too.
It was really tough during the first month when the buildup of the breastmilk was slow, often couldn't meet their requirements.
Anyhow, I just kept feeding. Cos the rule of the thumb for breastfeeding is FEED ON DEMAND. and not looking at the time.....
Yes, I practically became a full-time cow every night. No sleep. But in the daytime, I will sleep with my boys, hence my schedule became, they sleep, I sleep, they awake, I'm awake. That's how I get back my energy. Breastmilk supply will diminsh when you have lack of rest. So you MUST sleep when the child is sleeping. If not, your supply will have problem meeting the baby's demand.
Welcome to motherhood! *wink*
