How to choose what FM to buy?

Hi experienced mums!

Help me out here. How do you decide what to buy? As in there are so many choices and things to look our for.

From what I know, these are the important things to consider right? ingredients, price, similarity to breast milk and baby's preference.

even if ingredients, there are so many things, DHA.AHA, sugar content etc etc etc?

HOW DO YOU PRIORITIZE ALL?

actually i didnt 'choose' the FM.. cos to me, all the FM are the same. though the DHA, AA, vitamin dosage are all diffe, but i believe the 'standard'/'minimum' dosage is there alrdy.

when i was preggy, i was deciding btwn mamex n friso gold cos they are cheaper compared with Nan, enfa, similac.. end up i chose friso gold for dear son., hehe but after that he got reflux then pediatrician told us to change to friso comfort, then after that change back to friso gold but we realise he dont suit friso gold, cos whenver he is on friso gold, he seems to hav lotsa phelgm so change to similac, until now =)

but the phelgm thingy is up to individual. dont suit dear son, doesnt mean dont suit other babies. same thing, this FM suit my baby, her baby, also doesnt mean will suit your baby.. =)

ya what apollo said about the suitability is more "real"

i've heard some parents said they like the dolphin so they want to give their baby mamil haha

some like nan cause its said to be closest to mummy's breast milk

gain iq is more on intestinal health not actually gaining intelligence.

but personally i prefer the highest in DHA, AA n choline... so i chose enfa series. so far baby ok with it, so just continue lorr!

anyway, so you guys generally buy based on trial and error?

as in first you decide on things like ingredients then switch around if the baby finds it unsuitable? sorry i'm rather confused. haha!

My first FM was similac because the hospital was feeding it to my son before I could start breastfeeding him.

But later I found out he was allergic to Similac, as well as to Mamil Gold.

Later we switched to NAN HA (HA means hypoallergenic) as intro-ed to us my our pediatrician.

NAN Pro means probiotics.

Agree with Apollo that it's all down to suitability. Maybe you can go to milk websites to request for free samples (like Mamil Gold) or request for samples from your pediatrician.

you could also choose based on your pediatrician's recommendation. if no problems accepting it, it should be fine.. as long as you are comfortable about it.

we started off with dumex gold but my dear daughter constipated.. so our pediatrician recommended Similac.. which is good coz my dear daughter inherited my sucky stomach.

the hospital fed her s26 so i gave her s26 also
