Do note that most paeds out there do not specialize in paed nutrition so naturally, each will have their own advice and suggestion. Just know that at this stage, babies should be getting most of their nutrients from milk and not solids - that means your baby should be drinking milk first and having their solids later or after.
At 7.5 mths, most babies are taking one meal of solids a day - usually lunch. Some will take up to 2 meals and 2-3 servings of solids (one serving is about 1-2 oz of puree). Do note that this is just a rough guide - some babies may eat more and some less. What's more important is that they get a balanced meal per day:
- 3 to 4 servings of fruit and veg
- 1-2 cereal or grain servings
- 1-2 tbsp of protein every alternate day or 1 egg yolk every 3 days
- 1 dairy serving (yogurt or cottage cheese)
Milk amount recommended is five BF feeds a day or 30-32 ounces of FM. Water should be only up to 4-8 ounces, anymore and it cuts into their milk intake.
All amounts here are taken from Super Baby Food. You can check out wholesomebabyfood.com for some info on how much solids and milk at what age.
Hope this helps.
