I've a 3 weeks baby boy. I would like to know how much water should I give him?
He's on breast milk & FM.
If like that do I still need to give him water?
For me, I used to feed dear son with 1-2oz of water w gripewater daily until 4mths old. I just stopped feeding water. Until now, dear son is just drinking his milk & semi solids.
But if dont't need to drink water will affect their poo?
Cos my boy now currently everyday will poo but if did not give him water he seems difficult.
My Boy's 4 mths plus and I've not been giving him water at all though everyone's been telling me to give him some...
tried feeding him once in a while but he doesn't like it at all... drink not even 1ml...
So far he poos everyday...
will 'force' him to drink when he turns 6 mths then...
My boy is 3 months old and I only feed him water when he has hiccup non stop. other than that, I did not give him any water intake.
The doctor will suggest not to give baby plain water until he is 6months.
But mothers will tell you it's ok to feed him with water, nothing wrong.
For me, I only allow 1-2 sips per day. Now baby is coming to 6months, I am trying to get him to drink more water, at least 1oz a day.
So it's up to you.
my pediatrician had previously said that baby dont need to be fed water separately since milk is mainly made up of water... and by feeding water, precious tummy space is taken up by water instead of milk... so i've not been feeding ds3 much water since he was born... oni feed him occasionally... he's on tbf...
I did not feed my dear daughter much water when she was below 6 months as she's TBF. Now because she's taking in semisolids, i try to feed her a bit of water every now and then (even though she's still breastfed).

pediatrician advise not to let new born drink water.
since breast milk and fm have water which is enough.
i did feed my girl small amount of water using a teaspoon.
was told it will have to wash away the milk residue left on the tongue.
I give my baby drink water through bottle since he is one week old.
Whenever he has hiccups & whenever he has finish feedin on both breast & still seems hungry.
It is said that drinking water helps the baby flushed out his jaundice too...
Baby is currently 2weeks old & everything still well..
