After reading this thread, I am not sure if I should let my 3 mths baby sleep in the yaolan. My mother in law saw me holding my baby during the day as she everytime I put her in the cot she cries, so pratically I have to hold her every afternoon to let her take naps. As I will be heading back to work soon and my mother in law cannot carry her the whole day, she inisisted on putting her in yaolan so that she can take care if her easier after I head back to work.
I observed that my gal actually could not sleep in the yaolan for the whole afternoon and end up waking up every 10 mins. On the 3rd day when she cried I carried her and put her on the bed. My baby was so happy started to smile at me and play with me. I gathered that she doesn't like to sleep in the yaolan.
Now I put her back to the babycot she got no problem sleeping.
apart from yaolan, is there other alternatives to put baby to nap? i tik ive an immediate prob, my baby only sleeps for 30mins each nap on bed / on crib and always wake up crying, even when i try to pat him back to sleep, he will refuse. ive read many studies say it is not enuff for baby development. recommended min 90-120mins. we dont preach the use of pacifier nor yaolan. bt now im facing his short nap problem. how cn i make him sleep longer..really dont want to use yao lan...
Even i put my baby in the yaolan in the afternoon , sometimes need to add on the pacifier to make her feel more secure .When she is deep asleep , i will pull out the pacifier and more of the time she can sleep on without sucking it anymore .
I think you try out and see .
You are right not to introduce the Yaolan , now i am trying to wean her off at night time not to sleep in yaolan but on a mattress on the bed.
Ya loh , yesterday she cried so hard that the milk come out when we refuse to put her in the yaolan. And the moment we put her in , she stop crying and fall asleep .
My mum told me cannot let the Baby cry too long as it will cause the milk to come out . Not sure why , but it seem true .
Look like the CIO method does not work for her . We already try this method for 3 days.
Anyone try letting your baby sleep on tummy n pat on the back? I remember when my monster started infant care @ 1yr, the teachers let him sleep on tummy n pat on his back, something which we dont do at home. We have difficulty making him take his nap on weekends, but after we use the school's method he falls asleep fairly fast. And funny thing is the pat must have a loud slapping sound, you know the loud sound when you slap something with your cupped hand. We tried patting softly n it dont work lol
