hehe i'm in the midst of making wall decos fr her... we've placed those stars that shines in dark on ceiling... n coloured ones on wall.. very pretty though sometimes its a distraction esp when we off the lights n the stars lits up.. she will be staring on the wall instead of closing her eyes off to sleep.. but as the stars fades.. she too wil soon drift off.
When she was 0-3 months i pasted the entire wall next to her cot wth black n white flashcards.. n recently i have coloured the same flashcards and added bits n details to it. now its very colourful.. (cos now she can see colours )
my latest "project",, i did a big tree cut-out wth leaves.. i used different materials fr leaves, n on each leaves we wrote one of the fruit of the spirit on it. eg love, patient, gentle... n i used velcro to paste the leaves on. so sometimes we go "pluck" leaves from the tree.. this weekend we will go source fr materials fr the ten commandments, not sure wats the design gonna be though...
I also danggled lots of stuffs over the house.. balls, chijmes, bells.. so whenever we walk pass we will make music.. (i did this initially to distract her while changing diaper, we hung chjimes on top of her changing area) so far it still works!
our latest toys are hand puppets (Jack n the beanstalk).. though she hasnt really learn to appreciate it.. cos i think in between changing character mummy is toooo sloooowww. what to do mummy alone have to play so many characters...
"And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love" 1 Cor 13:13"
wah, so stressful! my dear daughter's walls are quite bare cos i'm not really allowed to put up stuff on the wall. plus i not artistic and not good with hands...
think will just buy the ready made ones.
have tried the hand puppets, but all dear daughter does is to pull them off and try to eat them!
eh, can someone answer the question on flipping huhh? pretty please???
lol i think you all very hardworking . so far i never do all these with my girl at all.. no posters no flashcards etc. think if you all visit my house, you all wont realise i got a baby! she not much toys also lol.
uddermummy you worry too much lol. there is no right or wrong way to flip. every baby is different. my girl flip with tummy and hands though. not face lol. she just turn sideways and thenadjust her hands n legs a bit then flipped over .. looks similar to how adults flip (if you try to flip lol)
hmm kinda dangerous huh...for me, im always with my girl so pretty safe and she was sleeping with a positioner before she learns how to flip thus it can prevent her from flipping over.. then i can sleep peacefully hehe.
your baby can hold neck stabily? cos my girl when flipping, she will raise her neck before the face touches the mattress . so no worries bout suffocation.. same as adult lol. she will flip to her side with her ear still on the mattress then adjust hands n legs then before her face touches the mattress, she will raise her neck thus face is far from mattress when she flipped over...
Our girl's blog!
cant quite remember i think my baby also uses her face as pivot.. my baby is big n i used to worry tht she cant flip on her own so i used to do this with her,, when she is lying on her back, i hold her hands and pull her to tummy down position. I did this with her since she is two months plus n she only manage to do this on her own when she was about 10 days shy of her 4th month.
My mum decorated paper plates and pasted numbers in the centre of the plates. Now alicia's got numbers 1-10 in the room. There're also colourful nursery rhyme charts and charts of vegetables and fruits. Then there are just cute little pictures of birds, bees, butterflies, clouds which we try to count with her every day...
My mum's a retired primary school teacher so she's still very much into the pedagogy of teaching little ones!

i saw some of those charts at growing resources (issit dat name? growing something) quite ex ... paper plates is a good idea! thanks! my mom also teacher but secondary school but she spend all her time baby talking wth net, blowing raspberries at her tummy and trying to swing all of her 9kg grand-daughter in the air much to our horror!
Hey mummies! Any good places to recommend to get those chart which aren't too expensive? The idea of decking out the room with colourful charts sound like a great idea!
think the one snowbear have one can manipulate one isst? eg change the dates, day etc? those are good thought of doing one but havent got chance to go out source fr items... btw i recently thought i heard my baby call mama... dont know its fr real or not... but heard many times esp when shes crying.... its soo cutie....i managed to catch one on vids...hehe
wow, i see you mommies so good at doing and providing stuff for babies....so creative! my baby dont't have many toys and she doesn't seem to be interested also . put the toy in front of her and she goes for the remote control instead....aiya. As for books, she probably will tear it if I let her hold it LOL. she so "chor " and rough hahaha.
Do you mommies read to your child? I tried reading but she either try to snatch book, stare at me like what you talking about??? hahaha or just dont't bother listening and then reach out for remote control again.
btw, i think the babies here are now more thatn 3 months old? LOL
