I know that there is a formula to calculate baby's milk intake. My girl is 9kg and she is supposed to drink at least 180 mls per session but she is drinking only 120mls. She used to be able to drink about 150 mls but she seem to be refusing milk recently. Just one week ago, she was refusing milk badly. She drank only 50 mls per session and is only now back to 120mls.
I have started her on semi solids but only one tablespoon and I am fearful of increasing it as she will be so full, she will refuse her milk even more.....
Is this normal? I latch her on when I am at home but when I am away, she takes only about 400 mls. Is it sufficient?

I'm not too sure if she is teething but the last i check, there is nothing there yet...
So I should increase her food intake? I will try then...
dear son starting taking solid food at 5.5mths, at 6mth+, he was taking 2 meals solid food. =)
The formula is only for babies who're on full milk diet, no solids.
Once on solids, milk intake below 1yo should be between 600-800mls. You can include the amt added into food like cereal.
Total fluids a day should be at least 500ml. Fluids include milk, juices, water, etc.
ya increase her solid intake..1 tablespoon for a 6month old is too little..she shld be eating solids twice a day
some food tht you cld make for her ,you cld try using her milk as a base..like mashed potatoes with chicken

my girl's also drinking below the calculation levels.
i am away from work from 8AM to 6PM Mondays to Fridays and during this time she would take about 320ML to 360ML plus 1 feed in the afternoon. When I am home, she would latch on 2 or 3 times depending on her mood.
As long as baby is peeing/pooing fine, happy, my pediatrician says it's okay.
My 6mth old is also drinking little... 500ml in 24hrs only... but she is chubby and has quite a few wet/dirty diapers a day. She loves to eat cereal though... sometimes we mix some milk into the cereal to feed her but not often. Mostly she's taking those heinz bottled baby food or nestle rice cereal... think that's ok??
I'm really worried coz baby is losing her chubbiness. Sighs...
up her solid intake amount?
My girl was below the 25 percentile before we introduced solids to her. after that she's slowly climbing up the charts
My 6.5 mths girl also drinking lesser..used to be able to drink 180ml (if 4 hours stretch) but nowadays between 120ml-150ml, sometimes 80ml only.
pediatrician said they will reduce their milk intake to as low as 500ml per day.
Nowadays i give her 2x solids. If cereals, 3 tablespoons; porridge about half a bowl.
At 4months plus,my boy also started refusing milk..Cant even finish 90ml...!!! So i started him on solids..that is when he got his appetite back..Now at almost 7months,he eats his cereal/porridge about 2-3 times a day..And at night,he will gulp 120ml of milk every 3hours..He's also lost some of his chubbiness but so far doctor is happy with his weight gain during his monthly check-ups..
now i am giving him two meals on cereal since he isn't taking enough milk...
