Hi mummies, wondering if you all bring your baby to nap looking at the time or looking her their signs? my girl now 9.5mths.. usually she wakes up around 7.30am n nap at 11.30am and 5pm but these few days she totally dosent seem tired! she will rub her eyes n pull her hair(her tired signs) but then she dosent fuss n continue to crawl around, stand up n walk here n there(supporting tables n sofa).. she used to come to me n burry her head into my breast n fuss or cry if she wanna nap but recently she dosent.. so i wonder if need to put her to nap at the same time (11.30am n 5pm) or jsut let her stay awake?? she went 7hrs without a nap yesterday afternoon! then i put her to bed cos i needed to take my shower hehe...
during my boy earlier stage :
3 - 6 mths = 9.30am, 1.30pm, 4.30pm, 9.30pm sleep thro' the nite
7 - 12 mths = 10am, 2.30pm, wakes up 5.30pm will play till 9pm, 9.30pm sleep thro' the nite
13 - 18 mths = 10.30am, 3.30pm, wakes up 5.30pm will play till 8.30pm, 9pm sleep thro' the nite
19 mths onwards = 12pm, wakes up 3.30pm slowly day by day adjust no more napping after 4pm let kid play till 8.30 - 9.30pm then send him to bed & he sleep thro' the nite.
For me I actually pay attention to the signs and also the time.
hmm.. so even if she dosent seem sleepy(as in sleepy but not fussy nor cranky), then i should let her nap as well? its better? she usually naps 11.30-1pm and then 5pm-6pm and then sleep at night at 9.30pm. wakes up once at 5-6am for milk.. but these few days she never fuss so i never make her nap till i feel she has been awake for too long then i will put her down for nap.. so i better stick to her nap time ?
redjn, your boy nap 10.30 and 2.30 when he was 6-12mths but how long he nap at 10.30am? cos 2.30pm seems like very close to the 1st nap at 10.30am.. he nap 3hrs at the 2.30pm nap?? wah thats long.. the longest my girl nap so far is 2hrs.. when she was younger she only catnap of 30mins!

i give her nap on demand.
only when she is tired then i give her nap.
but now in sch, they have a routine to nap from 1230-330.
other than that she doesnt nap anymore.
i see my girl rubbing eyes n such but she dont fuss nor gets cranky so i dont know want to make her nap or not..
I observe both time and signs that she's tired. Usually she wakes at 9 or 10+ in the morning then i'd bathe her at 1+pm after her lunch then brush her teeth, read a book to her then bf her to bed at 2+pm. Sometimes she's too sleepy then i'd skip the reading and let her sleep. That's the only nap she takes in the day (it's a long nap of at least 2 hours). Sleeps at 11+/midnite. On cranky days, 1am!
By the time baby becomes cranky it's too late to put baby to bed.. they'd fuss too much and may even have difficulty falling asleep even if they're very very tired...

hai.. my girl just now rubbing eyes so i make her nap but 1hr + gone she still wide awake n wanna play.. give up.. she didnt 'ask' for a nap but i make her nap cos time's up but cannot .. she dont wanna sleep.. now crawling around again..
hmm i bf her before her bed/nap but then i never let her fall asleep on my breast since young... she can fall asleep herself. sometimes i put her down to bed awake but sometimes she falls asleep on my breast nowadays. midnight she wake up i dont bf her.. just pat her a bit to calm her down(usually she wakes up crying) then when she stop crying i stop patting.. then she roll around and fall asleep hehe. sometimes i just simply put her on the bed(without milk) then she will play herself rolling around then fall asleep beside me.
my girl recently play till dont wanna nap! she look so wide awake! faint..
mine is fix, i'll let him nap at around 2pm everyday. Sometimes though he is not sleepy, i'll put him to the mattress and pat him a while. He will sleep after a while cos oredi used to it.
how old is your son now?
my son is 5 yrs now, i mean last time i trained him to sleep at a fix time so automatically around that time he will sleep. Even though now he also nap sometime.
