When my baby sleeps, she will always shout or suddenly wake up crying during her sleep. I feel that she is having nightmare but isn't a newborn baby too young to be having nightmares?
Is there anything wrong with her?
Could she been scared with something?
was reading online on baby's sleep. nightmares are actually common and "aren't usually a sign of emotional disturbance"

Usually you have to just cuddle your baby and even though they do not understand you as yet, use a comforting tone (though you must be stressed out) to tell them things like: it's okay baby... mummy is here...etc. Also you can try to swaddle your baby (caution: your family members might say things like too hot, too tight... let them stretch..etc but just block it out). Swaddling makes them feel secure, as though they are still in their mother's womb. If you can, try to make shushing sound or turn on static white noise as it resembles the noise when they are in our womb. Then baby will feel secure and settle down.
