Mother to 2 princes and 1 little princess
upon admission, the staff will pass you a form to fill up and when discharge, they will deduct straight from medishield. then you only hav to pay for the amount which are not claimable.
fyi, if you take up 'highend' bedded like 1bedded, you cannot claim alot.
i extracted me widsom tooth more than a year ago and the bill supposed to be 1k plus.. end up i only hav to pay around 50bucks in cash. some by medisave some by medishield...
yes, my dear son should be covered under medishield cos i had received a certificate that states he's covered. but how does medishield works? im quite confused. does that means my dear son surgery can use my husband medisave & my dear son medishield?
another thing, we have not bought insurance for dear son yet. my husband does not want to talk about insurance now as he's very concerned about dear son surgery. is it ok for us to buy & claim insurance after dear son surgery?

medishield is actually government subsidies.. i dont know hw to explain.. mayb you check out their web? Ministry of Health: MediShield
for insurance, normally they will take 1-3mths to prosess... when is your dear son surgery? and i not sure if they will cover this surgery as it is planned before you buy the insurance...
Ya insurance does not cover any pre existing conditions. But you can still buy first.Early you buy the more protection you get.And it takes a while to process anyways..1-2 months.
hi mummies, my dear son will be going for inguinal hernia surgery.his surgery is on 12oct2009.
recently my dad was admitted for a surgery too... we were worried for the bill also.. but my bro's friend told him that his dad once admiited to hospital too and was in ICU for quite sometime and the bill came up to be 40k!!! but in the end they paid 800cash only...
no worries, i believe your boy will recover very fast after the surgery.. =)
