My dear daughter's PCF is organising educational trip to Zoo on the last day of sch... 1/2 day... $18... with the tram ride...
There's a consent letter form, with indemnity that the sch has taken all precaution... parents will not taken any actions if accidents happen.
Are 4 years old kids too young to go on school excursion without parents supervision?
Any1 of you tried?
Hard to let go... thinking dear daughter is still a baby... yet she's grown up so much
dont't worry! They will get extra help besides the usual teachers that go.better to let your child go on her own let her be independent if not next time you will worry when she has to go for compulsory trips and it will be her first time she will be very frightened. But if you let her go now, next time it will not a prob for her.She will definitely come home with exciting stories for you
Ya, for Belle's school, they actually get some parents to help out on that day too.. So they go along with the school.. Maybe you can ask the teacher if she needs help.. you can offer and check on Qiqi at the same time
Asking my mum to ask about the teacher-child ratio... my mum also dont dare to decide... ask us to make the decsion... but dear daughter sounds excited already... asking if she can go...
send her ..its ok one very safe.I m always at the zoo n i see how careful the teachers r with the kids.Maybe you can ask if they want parent volunteers then you can volunteer yourself n also keep an eye on daughter?Call school talk to principal straight n ask if teacher kid ratio n then ask if you can volunteer.
Frankly speaking, just let them go and have fun, so when they are back, they will tell you exciting stories..
I find it weird when those grandparents look so worried about the exercusions... then keep telling me in mandarin, "aiyoh, they are still so young, dont go laa." I was like.. errr..

i feel the same for Daddy D
perhaps its becoz its our only child?
i dont know but i also tend to be over protective when it comes to baber...(so far he has not went on excursion before)
but besides that i agree totally its actually good to have them go for excursions~~~*thinks hard*
last week i was there being a parent helper during their stage rehearsal for graduation. Baber was standing first row and about 1 meter away from stage
my heart jumps everytime he is jumping and dancing
so scared he wil fall off.................
My son is not yet 3yo & he's gone for numerous excursions with his CCC. Macdonald's kitchen, Hort Park, Zoo, Bird Park, organic farm, Goat Farm, etc. My maid & I take turns to volunteer to accompany the kids. Generally it's quite alright, for the young ones, some parents will follow. For the older ones, they will just stick to the teacher, principal or helpers (sometimes the cleaning/cooking lady goes along).
If it's your child's first trip, I think it's good to go along. See how the teachers handle the kids then you can decide about future trips from there.
Empty vessels make the most noise
I just sent my daughter to school 1/2 hour ago, her schol (PCF) is bringing students to Zoo today. I'm excited for her too! I'm not worry because she's not and my hubby is not and her teacher is not. Zoo is FUN! Great chance for her to learn independence. I prepared her fav lunch that she can self feed - ham and cheese bread and apple juice. Gave her extra shorts and a cap. So Daddy D, do let your child try as Jasmine is same age as her...no worries ok!
You can volunteer to tag along. But dont't expect to be assigned to look after your kid. The centre will usually assign you to 'babysit' other kids.
My kid went to Botanic Gardens when he was in Nursery. I volunteered to assist.
The funny thing was, part of the trip was to bring the kids to Q up for toilet break. The moment the teacher asked "Who needs to go to the washroom ?" All little hands raised high up. So, off they went, one by one, waiting excitedly to enter washroom cubicles. That alone took up a lot of the excursion time.
You may be deceived if you trust too much, but you will live in tormentif you dont't trust enough.(So trust your instincts for it will never lie)
uh, pin has been gg out of sch trips since she started CC.
she has been to nearby parks (which require crossing of roads), boat quay n clarke quay river side, sg river etc, sentosa's under water world n dolphin lagoon, vivo city n others with her sch..
uh, all i never accompany though, due to work constraints.
normally they will ask if parents wanna join, esp those major ones, but if not, like other mummies suggest, you can volunteer.
My mum said dear daughter cried loudly outside sch this morn!! Cos' a couple of her friends submitted the consent form... then dear daughter didn't... like that also cry... BTH my crybaby dear daughter...
Reach home dear daughter immediately tell me must submit form tomorrow... my mum n wifey also quickly say let dear daughter go... VERY safe... got a lot of teachers there...
DUH... as if my fault now... WOMEN... BTH...
During her excursion, I just bought her the huge Hello Panda (got 10pkts each) to bring along and share with her classmates.
ytd pin went to singapore river with her teachers.
from 9-12 pm.
lunch was provided.
the sch pack the lunch from sch n bring there for the kids.
