dont't expect the Zoophonics class for toddlers to teach phonics. It's more like an activity/playgroup class. The real phonics only kicks in for the older children (age 3 & above).
Well, it is a phonics school afterall and many parents will expect phonics to be taught
In their program introduction it says:"We will introduce our cast of 26 animal characters, letter shapes and sounds to enfage your child in phonics playfully."
But we have yet to see any of that during lessons other than singing the Zoo-Phonics song once (and it was so fast my son couldn't catch), which I find is not introducing the 26 animal characters at all. But there's activities & storytelling which my son enjoys. & I teach him the letter sounds on my own at home. I'm letting him join the class now to get used to the environment as eventually he'll move up to the Zoo Kids class (he's turning 3yo in a few more mths). For the price of $120 per month, I think it's worth the money even though they did not introduce the letter sounds as mentioned in their program introduction (I've already given feedback to the centre, so hopefully they'll work on that).
I'm just sharing my experience with them. My purpose of sending my son to a phonics school is to learn phonics & he has proven at home that he can pick up phonics. So I'm abit disappointed when the class is not as it was portrayed to be. But feedback has been given and my son is enjoying the class, so we are definitely continuing with the class
