I'm currently feeding Similac for my boy but find it abit ex. So I decided to change to Nan or Mamil. Is it advisable to change cos I scared my boy will not get used to it and dont't drink at all.
If can change, are there any so call best time to change?
Cos Similac have a much more stronger taste than other brands.. thus changing from Similac may require longer time..
You can change anytime you want.. but you need to follow the steps when changing to other FM.. ie if similac you have been giving is 2 scoops, try putting one scoop of similac and the other scoop of other FM..but remember. do change only during day time. see whether he got any soft stools after feeding.. this change may take up to 4 days.. till he is completely comfortable with the new one..of course, try to increase the new FM powder and lesser of the old ones..
Most importantly besides the cost, you also have to see the nutrient value of the FM..
5 cent worths..
Hope it helps
if your son is doing fine with Similac, wont recommend you to switch FM. but alternatively, you can try sample packs first to see if your son is OK with the new FM.
but pls REMEMEBER, DO NOT, (n yes, DO NOT) mix ANY FM together AT ALL.
be it same brand different stages or different brand but same stages.
because it will cause your baby to have diahorrea and different brand n stages have different nutrients, SO DO NOT MIX THEM TOGETHER.
instead, just replace the feeds. eg, if your child have 5 feeds a day, slowly replace 1 feed with the new FM, 4 feeds of old FM, 1 feed of new FM for the first day.
if he shows no sign of discomfort or whatsoever, replace another feed.
Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.
