| Worthy Lady | For Christian Families: Do you believe in child baptism? I dont't; on the basis that neither infants nor toddlers understand the gospel enough to even warrant baptism. Most of the times these children grow up as Christians because they were made Christians, but not of their faith, understanding and own choice. What are your reasons, be it agree or disagree? |

I was baptised as a child, grew up in christian family n indirectly 'forced' to confirm my religion when i was 16.... i'm being pressured to baptise my son now...my husband is alright with it cos he says it is e parent's dedication of e child to God...but i'm worried he might end up being 'forced' like me... i'm trying to delay e child baptism for as long as possible...hopefully e pressure does not build on me... | ||||||

| Worthy Lady | Re: For Christian Families: Do you believe in child baptism? Not a very good circumstance to me, maybe someone else feel differently. I think recently more and more Christians family are beginning to speak up against child baptism. It's not easy to denounce when the child grows up too, all because of a piece of "contract". |

| Moderator | Re: For Christian Families: Do you believe in child baptism? I dont't believe but for documentary purposes I was baptise when i was young. Same as with my hubby and my girl. This is because most schools in Phil. are catholic schools and asked our baptismal certificate upon enrollment. |

| Worthy Lady | Re: For Christian Families: Do you believe in child baptism? There are... in Tibet, their sons are sent up to the Lama monasteries and in China, some are sent up to Wu Dang Clan. For Christians wise, I am not sure about the various denominations. |

| Worthy Lady | Re: For Christian Families: Do you believe in child baptism? It is the responsibility of the parents not the child when it comes to child baptism. As a christian parent, you are bringing the child to God and you are committing to bring up the child as a child of God. It is also an outward sign to people that this child is a child of God. You are to teach him the values of christian character and when he grow up, it will be his/her decision whether he want to confirm his relationship with God. |
