Yes, I sometimes also run out of idea how to keep my baby (14.5 mths old) engaged meaningfully at home. Kids are extremely active, curious and explorative at this age.
I am also contemplating 1/2 day childcare when he turns 18 mths. I think kids learn more at childcare with professional teachers (with childhood education training) to coach them and engage them with kids programmes.
How do you engage your toddler every day? What games to play? What and how to teach them?
This is an approx. timetable for my son:
8.30am: Waking up
9am: Breakfast: Milk, cereal
9.30-11am: Poopoo time, bath time, some self-playing games (he will just walk/crawl around the house and play by himself.)
11 am - 12 noon: Nap
12 noon ++: Lunch
12-3pm: Play time --> Mingle with neighbours and their kids, watch tv, children's videos, read to him, play games (stacking games, ball, cards, Lego, piano, etc.)
3-4pm: Milk time
7pm+: TV time. Watch the news and play with neighbour's kid.
8-10 pm: Playing and reading time
10pm++: Milk time
11 pm++: Bedtime. (Sleeps late....)
