Kids are kids. Maybe, to that little girl, the guy's beard and gigantic height are what make a monster, a MONSTER! So, I think the mother should have justified her daughter's reaction. Explaining that her child only mistaken him as a monster, because of his beard and his height, or jokingly, she should have told the guy that his beard has grown longer and needs a trim, so kids won't be terrified of him. Also, let us not forget to talk to our kids, alone. Take note mommies and daddies. ALONE. dont't express your anger towards your kid/s in public. We know how terrible it feels when humiliated, right? For us adults, its already traumatic how much more for our kids?
When attending parties or gatherings, parents should have a little briefing with their kids beforehand, telling them that they are about to attend a party and they should behave well... Parenting requires tons of patience and a lot of explaining. Kids will better understand our point when we talk to them properly and nicely.
Goodluck mommies and daddies!
