Hi all Mummy... i just find it odd... my son is normally very cheerful since birth... This week he have been behave not like himself... is like most of the time he will get cranky & cry... even when i feed him half way... he will Suddenly cry with the teats still in his mouth.... then when i burp him also he cry... morning wake up also cry... & also when i put him on bed also cry... i'm getting a bit upset about this because he is not that kind that is cranky... he used to be a very cheerful & smiley boy... Now his intake of milk is getting lesser as well... do any of you got this problem too? will he be back to his ownself?? or is it growth spur... Will growth Spur cause baby to be cranky??
mayb you can try to apply some ru yi oil for him. if he kept fart after that, means should be wind.. if not, it could be teething??
maybe growing teeth?
Just monitor if other illness symptons... esp with all the HFMD cases...
else see the doc
oops... same thought as apollo We seasoned parents liaooo... haha
I did apply ru yi oil for him.. & even give him colic drop just in case is colic... but it seem the same after all this i done.. everything needs i also try & check... but still thats y getting worried... i feel so lously when he like that... & i start to think of all the pantang things... Hubby say i think too much.. later go crazy... It might be teething i feel.. because he will bite on his bottle teats sometime...& also bite & suck on his hands... is it too early to teeth now? he is 3 month plus now.. he dont know how to hold things now.. so i have not buy teether for him... should i get & help him hold to let him chew?
Sounds like colic to me.
any pattern? like usu happen at certain time of day? or when you feed him? try to monitor n c if any patterns.
could he b feeling cold? or insecure so he needs to feel you around. at this age, other than those pantang things, most prob is colic. if you want, let him drink a bit of woodward's gripe water. c if it'll help. n keep him warm. it'll b over. sometimes it's a stage you have to go thru. it'll get better! definitely.
Sounds like teething to me.
1. Use your finger (wash with soap & wipe dry) to feel his gums. Is it getting hard or any tenderness/swelling?
2. Freeze a damp hanky (tie a knot at the corner of the hanky. Offer it to him to chew on (stop his from biting fingers).
3. Carry on with the colic drops (just in case it is colic).
During teething, the gums will be painful. Imagine if his gums are painful/sensitive & he still need to 'bite' the teat to drink milk. More painful, so he will fuss & cry. It's like you are hungry, but when you eat, it is painful. Very frustrating. Plus when we feel pain, we naturally want mummy to sayang us! So he'll be abit more sticky than usual.
Try cup feeding if you are worried that he is not taking in enough milk.
The cold hanky will also help to lessen his pain during teething & stop him from eating his fingers.
Empty vessels make the most noise
babies can be affected by many things, most importantly you must not be affected by his mood swings, coz if you r upset by his cries and crankiness, they can feel our mood too~~~
baber when he was young also have times when he behaves super cranky, you can try all those that every1 suggested, or if everything else fails, bringing baby out for a short walk nearby might be useful sometimes.
i remembered one weekend when we have tried everything but baber still cries nonstop (he was 2.5months old thereabouts), so hubby brought him out for a walk and he did quieten down abit and fall asleep after
I remember Ben was like this when he was about 6months... Drink milk halfway, Fussy and cranky, cling onto mother.... and difficult to go into deep sleep. The whole process lasted for about 1 week. We found out he was teething coz he drool like nobody business and always grab thing to bite. With a bit of Dentinox before he sleeps will make him better..
i think should be teethin cos he keep biting the teat. ash used to be lik that. he started hav teething symptoms at 3mth old. and his 1st tooth only come out at 4mth+ nearly 5mth old.
you can get him teething gel. ash was using Dentinox teething gel. apply 2-3 x per day. if after you applied for him (around 30min like that), and he stop his fussiness, then confirm is teething liaooo..
Okok.. i will try all the things that you all recommend.. hope it works... Thanks mummy
Most prob is Colic..
One trick you can try -
See his hands.. in between the thumb and index finger, there is a vein.
If you notice a very " blue" color vein.. it imply that the baby stomach have a lot of wind..
There is a very obvious vein running from the index finger.. you can try to have a look..
One chinese doctor actually teaches me to c..
Hope it helps..
Sorry to butt in...But can i use Bonjela for my boy's teething aches..??
dont't think it's suitable for babies. You can give cool fruits or hard rusks to help with the pain. There are teething gels as well but those are actually LAs so limit their use whenever possible.
