    wow. i will make sure i'm beside my child and stop him in time when he is about to hit my child. also, you should scold him too. such behaviour cannot be tolerated!!! chinese saying : ci mu duo bai er. (the more lenient the mum is, the more the child is spoiled!)

    I have a friend who is pretty soft in my opinion when she handles her girl. I have seen her little girl hit her when she was only about 3-4 years old when my friend did not allow her to get something she wanted, and my friend did not do anything and just pretended nothing happened. I was heard that she would get angry when her husband scolds her baby girl if she does something wrong.

    If I were you, i definitely would warn my child that in future if he sense that something is wrong, to come to me immediately. Before that maybe warn your friend's child in her presence before they start to play, that you do not tolerate his behaviour of slapping your kid. If it still doesnt work, i guess it would be best to keep your child by your side and let him play with his own stuff.
