Hi mummies, when do you send your kid to playgroup or nursery? For playgroup, I know they accept children from 18 mths... Do you send your kids there at 18 mths or do you wait till they are older??
I send Belle to PG only when she was 2.5 years old coz she was learning rather much at home.
As for Iggy, I started him on PG when he was 2 years old. Initial plan was to start him when he hits 18mths but I was worried coz he couldn't speak much at that time, worrying he might get bullied.
Boy was I wrong!! Within 1-2weeks after he started schooling, he was trying to pronounce a lot more words than he used to. I regretted not starting him at 18mths now.
Like the two of you, I think I will send her in when she is 2yrs or 2yrs+... worried that she will not be able to convey what she needs or she will be bullied...
Hi, Apple Tree is a good playgroup with very interesting curriculum. When my 2 kids were toddlers, i sent them to playgroup and taught them fun phonics playgroup style at home myself using a very good set of phonics book and CD. With this combination of learning which is fun, stress free and also good bonding time with them, both of them are good readers by age 4 and able to spell many words. My girl now at P2 has good results without the need for any tuition coz she already has a strong foundation from young. Since it worked on my 2 kids, i believe it will benefit other kids and reduce the need for them to go for endless tiring academic enrichment programme. If you want to find out more about the phonics training course, PM me.
