It's normal. In fact, most children have gaps in between their baby teeth. This wld allow for their permanent teeth (usually bigger) to move into alignment when the baby teeth dropped.
My elder child had a set of very crooked baby teeth when they started sprouting. Her jaw was too small to accomodate the teeth. The dentist told us that we needed to bring her back when she was about 3 yo for an xray to check if her adult teeth are also like that. That is when the permanent teeth buds are present in her gums. Chances were pretty high that she'll need braces when her permanent teeth are out. We opted out of the xray, didn't feel it was necessary since her teeth were more or less aligned as she grew older.
