My 3months old baby boy having phlegm and wheezing sound!
Any1 had this prob before and whats the remedy for this?
The peditrician advised that he is too young to be on medication for flu.
Can nose drop help reduce the flu?To my my knowledge nose drops helps to clear nose from nose blockage but for flu does it help?
Just notice that you are also staying at NorthEast. There is a good pediatrician at SengKang.
Kidslink (Blk 237, Compassvale Walk #01-532)
It's quite busy esp for walk-in, so have to go early to book. But if your baby is wheezing, just tell the nurse and they will inform the doc for you to go in first.
My baby is fine and he is usually active and playing. He only has this wheezing problem in the night.
I have brought him to KK Pediatrican and she has advised that it is common and ask me to suck out the phlegm from his nose. I was not very convinced with the Pediatrican advice.
dear son had very bad cough with wheezing when he was only 2mth+ old and his pediatrician did prescribed him medications with nebuliser. I think they go by weight instead of age, dear son was nearly 7kg at 2mth+.. But of cos, the medications he could take was only that few.
My pediatrician told me before that sucking out the phlegm is only removing about 10-20% of the phlegm as it goes all the way into the chestst area. Definitely best to consult another pediatrician. Try to visit kidslink tomorrow, if not your baby will always be uncomfortable at night and you will be extremely tired too.
you should visit another doctor for consultation. coz when baby have wheezing sound thts not good for them. thats what i was told by a Dr at OOi baby clinic. but your baby is too young to give any advices. so i recommend you to kidslink clinic. it has many branches so look out which one is nearer to you.
I think you need to consult a different pediatrician. My daughter had phlegm in lungs at under 2mths. Had medications, nebuliser too. Finally admitted in after pediatrician sent phlegm sample to lab and came back positive for MRSA. Also, pediatrician said it's not hygienic to suck out phlegm especially since it has virus.
My son had bad phlegm with wheezing when he was 3months old. He was prescribed medication with neubilizer. Prolong wheezing can cause difficulty in breathing and may lead to asthma. And neubilizer has the better effect than syrup. Might want to bringg him to another Doc?
