yesterday afternoon we introduced my boy to stage 2 Similac formula(only once a day) but at night around 9+pm his stools are watery. i told my husband mayb is due to his teething or the stage 2 formula but my husband said mayb because my boy took different milk thats y lead to dirrhoea,
(morning= friso milk cereal,
afternoon= stage 2 similac formula,
evening/night= stage 1 similac formula)
** just to add, Sat night we fed my boy nestle rice cereal**
any mummies can advise y my boy got dirrhoea? iszit due to his teehing or he's not suitable for stage 2 similac formula?(my boy will be 6mths tomorrow)
Hi regina mummy, no we did not mix cos previously i asked around & was told never to mix or else baby tummy cannot take it.
fast meh? my husband said let dear son take stage 2 once a day then slowly change, now he's still on stage 1 formula, stage 2 formula only let dear son take once a day. is this ok? advice pls
I think what you did is ok, to give him the stage 2 once a day for him to adjust.......
That time when I wanted to change my son's FM I too did not dare to mix .......
But you might want to monitor your son's stools and if he has diarrhea again today? And what other symptoms besides the diarrhea, like is he in pain or keeps on crying? If he has then better bring him to see the pediatrician.
Oh and do keep your son hydrated....
maybe your baby just need time to adjust, like what my previous reply said. his watery stool only once-twicce a day right? if so, then you observe 1st
When changing baby's fm... I was actually told to mix it. My dear son was also on Similac and now on Gain IQ (Stage 3). Here's what I did each time he needed to move to the next stage of fm.
Assuming he takes 4 scoops of fm...
week 1: 3 scoops stage 1, 1 scoop stage 2
week 2: 2 scoops stage 1, 2 scoops stage 2
week 3: 1 scoop stage 1, 3 scoops stage 2
week 4: 4 scoops stage 2
Using this method, I have no problems changing his fm. In fact I was advised by both the pediatrician and the Similac consultant on this method.
but recently, he kept tell me NOT to mix even is from the same brand.. i told him similac staff told me can mix, but he still ask me dont mix, even the nurses said that too... just to play safe? haha..
