Since he just recovered, he might need to take sometime before he fully regain back his appetite. Mine also dont eat much as compared with other same age kids. But as he grows older, his appetite slowly improves. It takes time.
hw old is your son?? few weeks ago, dear son fallen ill too and took nearly 2 weeks to fully recover. And he was behaving like your son, very clingy and we 'sayang' him alot as we know he was feeling very sick and uncomfy. after he recovered, he felt that we should continue giving him to him but since he has recovered, we go back to our usual ways of displinary (when needed).
As for independancy, it takes time. Last time dear son dont allow me to leave him a second. Even I wanna go toilet, also have to bring him to the MBR, lock the MBR door and leave the door door open just to let him know that I'm in front of him. But recently, he has become more independant. When I tell him I'm going to toilet and ask him to tag along to the room, he refuses and prefers to be in the living room playing with his toys. And few days ago, I was doing some baking in the kitchen, he self-entertained himself for more than 4-5hrs (except his naptime)!!! We realise he tend to be more independant when we are busy, or rather, he knows that we are busy and cant keep him accompanied all the time. I think it takes sometime for them to understand to be independant, for my case, i didnt do anything 'extra', just follow what he wants but in our eyes, he still become more and more independant. =)
