Re: My 2mth plus baby's hand feels cold. Why?

its becoz newborn baby's bloodcirculation still kinda limited around their body and have not't really circulate thouroughly to their hands and feet.. tats why the hand and feet always feel cooler.. so putting mittens and socks really help. but few months later your baby feet n hand will feel warmer as they grow.

hi

this is becasue the hands and leg are the furthest from the heart hence they are cold but not to worry this is will casue any negative effects. hence the legs are colder than hands. anyway cover their legs but not hands as after a month they should learn to feel their surrounding and this will stimulate their brain.

side track a little -- does your baby tend to scratch his face once his mitten's removed? ds3 always scratches his face till he has these little marks all over his face... sigh...

Re: My 2mth plus baby's hand feels cold. Why?

Is it necessary to wear socks? My dear daughter is a month old, but I do not have the habit of putting socks for her (normally I swaddle her). mother in law says wind will get in from the feet, hence result in colic (never hear before, but want to seek 2nd opinion)

I also let my son wear mitten whenever he sleep because that is the time he will scratch his face unconsiously. There was a time my maid call me in the office very urgently to inform me that he has scratch all over his face.
Dear me, When I go home, he really look like a pussy cat. some of the mark can stretch from left to right and there is one very near to his eye.

Try massaging baby, its really good, esp the feet after bathe. Do it GENTLY. Appy some lotion with the massage so not too rough .

Re: My 2mth plus baby's hand feels cold. Why?

i guess we can not avoid our babies from scratching their face coz they still can't control their own hand.

well maybe what we can do is not letting them scratching when they starting to or trim nails regularly..

sometime even tho nails already short but maybe the way we cut the nails not so smooth and that could leave marks on their face too.

my girl always have this too.. coz when i try to cut the nails she always wants to wave her hand so i cut in hurry...
