Toddler Nose Bleed...

Any 1 of you have kids with occasional nose bleed?
My dear daughter (4 yr) nose bleed a couple of times... usually in the morn... saw the doc previously... doc says nothing wrong physically...
So narrow down to either...
1. Kid is too heaty
2. Aircon room too dry

Fri morn she nose bleed again... aiyo...

Boiling those cut pears for cooling drink...
Thinking of buying a more expensive humidifier... Novita? Does it help?

Daddy D, i rmb me and my friends used to have nose bleeding pro when we were young. even my friend's son, currently K1 i think, his nose will also suddenly bleed sometimes but not everyday.. i not sure of the reason behind either..

for humidfier, this brand seems good too maier™ -- Air Purifiers, Humidifiers &*Home Care Products at Affordable Prices!

actually i personally think that is too heaty lehh.. somemore recently the weather
is VERY hot! make her drink plently of barley, coconut juice to 'tao liang'

Cool... this maier looks good... mini and portable... saw the bigger one...kinda takes up space... will check it out
Also got ionic humidifier... dont know what's the diff...

I did have this problem when I was young. The paed said that the membrane of that particular vein in my nostril was very thin. Sneezing hard will cause a nose bleed. His suggestions at that time were:

1) Remain status quo. Hopefully the membrane walls will thicken quickly and reduce the occurrence.

2) Cauterise that particular vein to resolve the issue quickly. However, no guarantee that the problem will not happen again.

my mom went for Option 2. I can tell you it didn't work. On hindsight, we might be better off remaining status quo. Right now, if I have sneezing fits that last for a while, I still get nose bleeds.

ya the portable one seems good.. i went to Homefix to check it out that time, $65.90 i think. it is VERY LIGHT! I mean before adding water lahh.. but becos of the light weight, you can bring it overseas etc.. i also intend to get for dear son, cos his skin is kinda dry....

I have 1 maier humidifier to let go if anyone here is interested. i bot it sometime dec09 from maier directly and it comes with box and unfilled warranty card. this is the model i have.

I just bought it from Homefix @ AMK Hub... only 1 left so just take lahh... $65.90... comes with a car charger too.
Using now... fill the container with water...about 1 cup full only... plug in... it kinda boils for 5mins before the mist comes out... dont know how long it will last...hopefully 1 night...
Placed at dw's bedside table... the mist kinda all over her face... like skin therapy... haha! dont know if it'll work for dear daughter.... cos' the mist dont project far... let you know.
Should be good for travel n use in hotel room... always have the prob with hotel rooms being too dry with the air-con.

Thanks... I think better remain status quo too... my dw also have the sinus thingy... maybe dear daughter inherited that

Have you sought an ENT specialist's advice yet? Maybe your dear daughter has a different problem from mine. Better consult 1 first.

The pediatrician did mention something about the membrane wall thingy... n also sensitivity cos' my dear daughter gets running nose quite often too.

Me too, it's allergic rhinitis for me. Gets worse whenever the haze comes and if the differential temp is high, like very cold in the morning. These few weeks were terrible, what with the numerous forest fires around. Everyday also wake up with irritated nose and tearing swollen eyes. sigh...

Duh... of cos got air-con lahh... if not buy to do steam facial ahh?
Kinda not that good... cos' middle of night dries up liaoo... I think lasted about 4 hours... dont think we want to wake up in the middle of the night to add water bahhh... but maybe cos' in high mode... 2nite try the low mode...

ever since i was about 4yo til i in sec 2 i think, my nose everyday bleed... hahahahaha..
reason so? when i was 4 yo that time, i go disturb my elder sis n she punch my nose. wahahahaha~ but, i went to see specialist when i was arnd sec2 iirc.. cos my nose bleed til very jialat those kind, macham like tap... doc always see me til he BTH he send me to ENT at singapore general hospital there.
doc commented my "vein" is thinner than usual ppl, tts why if i rub too hard, or someone just pinch my nose only, then i bleed liaos.
last time a few of my friends dont know, always like to pinch nose, then bleed they "hung tio".. lol~
the doc kinda put some medicine into my nose there, then ever since, my nose seldom bleed liaos, only once in a while.

So far so good... dear daughter seems to sleep better these 2 nites... so far no nose bleed... wifey says her throat not so dry in the morn... but actually feels no difference to me.... maybe cos' I furthest away from it... also 1 cup of water only... if dont expect 2 much still ok bahh... the LOW mode shld be able to last about 5hrs... just add water every nites....
High got blue light.... Low got green light...

if the water finish liaoo it will auto switch off?? i dont expect much actually only hope dear son's skin wont so dry.. haha..

Yes, it will stop when no water. But the light will still be on.
Wifey also says skin won't be so dry, esp for dear daughter... say I got no effect cos' I thick skin.... DUH....

oh okok.. mayb i discuss with my hubby again.. actually we wanna get those 'piggy' humidifier from those pushcart, but also not cheap horr, $60+ i think.. and dont know good bo lehh.. cos my friend using, said will wet the floor.. tsk tsk..

My son also have the same nose bleeding problem. We have seen several PDs and all advised us it is normal and do not worry about it.

I have Novita here and I dont use it much ... I dont think it is any useful?

OIC... cool... but dont understand why nose bleed should be normal... hmmmmm.... shld be our climate...
I bought the Novita so that wifey will have peace of mind (and stop nagging)
Better I buy this @ $65.90 than her buying the $299 one... haha!
