SIX men were arrested on Wednesday for their suspected involvement in the Bukit Panjang slashing incident which left five hospitalised.

Aged between 15 and 23, they attacked six teenagers at the Bukit Panjang housing estate on Monday night.

Following the incident, the police mounted an intensive series of raids in the Bukit Panjang area, resulting in the arrest of the six suspects.

They are believed to also be responsible for slashing another 20-year-old at Fajar Road.

The group attacked their victims with weapons such as parangs and choppers.

Police say that there is no proof to date that the Bukit Panjang attacks are related to the Downtown East murder of a 19-year-old youth.
