MELBOURNE (Australia) - AUSTRALIAN police say a drunk driver in a car crammed with seven children has crashed, injuring herself and five passengers.

Victoria state police Sergeant Pat McGavigan said on Monday that the 35-year-old woman crashed her sedan into a parked car on the outskirts of Melbourne on Sunday night.

Sgt McGavigan says she had a 10-year-old boy in the front passenger seat, two 14-year-old girls and a 15-year-old boy in the back seat and three boys - two aged 14 and a 15-year-old - in the trunk.

He says she and five boys received medical treatment after the crash, but no one was seriously injured.

He says the driver, who has not been named, faces a range of serious charges.
