SINGAPORE : "Live Healthy. Eat Healthy" was the message at the Healthy Family and Harmonious Community Carnival 2010 on Sunday.

The carnival is organised by the Ang Mo Kio GRC-Yio Chu Kang SMC Malay Activity Co-ordinating Committee.

MP for Ang Mo Kio GRC, Lee Bee Wah, sounded off the horn to signal the start of the "Red Ribbon Brisk Walk", which seeks to engage the community in greater understanding about HIV and physical activity.

About 1,000 participants took part in the morning exercise at Lower Seletar Reservoir Park.

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong joined the participants at the carnival where demonstrations on healthy cooking were given.

Mr Lee asked the participants to stay active and exercise to keep in good health.

He also suggested making small adjustments to their diet and to take care of their weight so that they can live a healthier and happier life.

MediaCorp artistes such as Sarah Aqilah and Kunjung treated the crowd to a singing performance.
