SINGAPORE restaurant Iggy's takes top spot once again, in the third edition of The Miele Guide, touted as Asia's only restaurant guide.
The modern European restaurant in Singapore's Hilton Hotel knocked Hong Kong's L'Atelier Joel Robuchon off the top spot, pushing it to second place in this year's ranking.
Iggy's was ranked No. 1 in the inaugural guide that was launched in 2008.
The annual guide ranks and profiles Asia's top 20 restaurants and another 430 that are considered to be Asia's best. It was released on Wednesday at a gala dinner at Grand Hyatt Macau attended by 320 guests that include restaurateurs, respected foodies, and professionals in the food and beverage industry.
This year, five Singapore restaurants - one more than last year - made the top 20. They include fine-dining restaurant Jaan at No. 4, French restaurant Les Amis at No. 11, Gunther's Modern French Cuisine at No. 13, and Tippling Club, which debuted in the top 20 list at No. 15.
The 184-page guide lists restaurants in 17 Asian countries including Vietnam, Nepal, India, Cambodia, Indonesia, Korea and Japan.
The guide costs S$24 (and will be available at major bookstores across Asia from the end of October.
