A SINGAPOREAN man was arrested on Wednesday in connection with the murder of a Japanese expatriate.

Mr Takanori Inada, 30, a work permit holder, was found with multiple injuries at around 7am on Oct 23 in Bukit Pasoh Road, near the Police Cantonment Complex.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force was alerted by a passer-by who said that Mr Inada had suffered a fall. He was taken to the Singapore General Hospital where he died five hours after he was found.

Police officers became suspicious when they saw that he had bruises on his body, which indicated that violence could have been used against him.

Officers from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Police Intelligence Department and Central Police Division conducted extensive inquiries and tracked down a 41-year-old man. He was arrested in the Toa Payoh area on Wednesday.
