STOMP - Singapore Seen - Pregnant woman's hubby shouted at me to give up MRT seat although I'm pregnant too
""I'm 3 months pregnant and been feeling sick so I was lucky to get a priority seat during peak hour.
"One man came in with his wife. Her stomach looked bigger than mine but I wanted to make sure she's pregnant and not fat.
"And also, I wasn't feeling that well too. The guy shouted at me 'WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING AT' and threatened me to give up my seat. I got up and told him I'm also pregnant.
"Not only did he not apologise, he stared at me as if he was going to beat me up throughout the journey...."
Who bigger/louder who wins.... BTH....
What's wrong with people nowadays?? *shakes head*
either that guy is crazy, thinks the whole world owe his pregnant wife a seat or that stomper is spouting one-sided story
haha.. ya.. the article lacks that bit of convincing power..
But those so called reserved seats are always taken up by "sleeping" passengers...
I think either the stomper got the "kiam pa" face or not thinking straight...
so many priority seats... why the man has to confront her?
she kena shouted at... still give up the seat for F?
F back the man mahhhh...
Serious anot.... the wife also allow the husband to shout at other preggy women mehh? Aiyoooo all same same pregnant mahhh... dont tell me no1 else will give up their seats?????? Like what you say if im that preggy women i sure will F88k back that fellow....
i seriously felt that pregnant people shouldnt have the mentality of expecting commuters to give up seats when they take public transport. if you need a comfy ride then take a cab. so simple. just read up stomp's comments on this issues and you will see that people are now looking at preggies with jaundiced eye and really, no one cares if you are pregnant. giving up a seat is supposed to be a goodwill gesture.. not being forced to.
ya i agree with tinkerball
when i was preggy, i sometimes rub my palm on my belly thinking, ".. my precious" feeling a little unbelievable & blessed at the same time.
but only recently i read that some ppl actually think that preggy women do that because they are "shouting" at ppl to watch out for that tummy! baby inside! make way! move aside! then i realized that there are both black sheep and ppl who stereotyped preggy ladies.
Yup thats y i seldom take public transportbut there are still some nice people out there willing to give up their seats to me...
i agree with tinkerball! when i was preggy, i dont expect anyone to give up seats to me, even ppl gave up their seats, i will just said "thks, but i dont need the seat", cos after wking whole day, i'm sure they are also very tired. only once or twice, i accepted the seats from kind strangers..
but, no matter preggy anot, if one is not feeling well, of cos can request for seats, but definitely is a nice tone, and rmb to say THK you aka GAM XIA after ppl gave up their seats to you..
and i also feel that it's really up to ppl whether they wanna give up the seats anot. though they said reserved seats are reserved for those who need it more but if ppl dont wanna give up, we also LL right?
and the lady who claimed that the guy scolded and 'threatened' her, actually since she is also preggy, she can just dont give up the seat what, i'm sure the train were full of ppl (if not who will ask her to give up seat?), so i doubt the guy will do anything to her even if she dont give up the seat.. y she gave up her seat after that complain on Stomp? contradicting right?
i think im lucky in a way that my workplace is nearby my home. no need to take bus or mrt. so throughout my pregnancy, ive never experience understanding or keh siaoo commuters. moreover i felt so sick during preggy, the last thing i wanna do, is to go anywhere. hee....
if im the woman this man met, wahahahahahaha, he'll cry.
So sad that the man shouted at the woman..........
You all should go see the comments on the stomp! Got one say something like " All pregnants go take cab ! So many prob in our little red dot" and "Pregnant nowaday damn big issue. Precious mah cos our country needs babies."
First one, the person who commented is definately not a parent yet.
second on is being so sarcastic !
whats wrong with these pple ? jia lat ....
actually i have one very annoying idea before..
haha, cos when im out with pin, n carry her, ppl usually WONT give up their seats.
i mean come on lahs, you see a young kid standing n keep on almost toppling (esp on buses cos more bumpy), you still have the heart to just sit there n STARE at the kid?
then when pin tells me she wanna sit, i also feel very what, cos some ppl hear, n the moment they hear, they either bcome BUSY, or fall into sleep mode.
i ever thought of telling pin, why dont you ask uncle/auntie that you r tired n let you sit?
hahahahahahah!!! will they actually feel paiseh n give it up?
Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.
simple , give up the seat for that heavily preg woman then make sure you puke on her or the hubby.
