JOHOR BARU - THE police have arrested four suspects believed to be involved in the murder of an Indian businessman that was gunned down in front of his son on Oct 15.

Johor police chief Deputy Commander Datuk Mohd Mokhtar Mohd Shariff said that the suspects aged between 23 to 49 years old were arrested following a public tip off.

He added that a task force was set up to catch those responsible for the murder of 44-year-old G.Tamil Selvam who was shot twice at close range.
'We also found and recovered a pistol type Walter with four bullets believed to be used by the suspects at a vegetable farm in Permas Jaya.

'One of the suspects had a previous criminal record for a drug offence in Kulaijaya in 2003 and is also related to investigations pertaining a rape case in Masai,' he said adding that with the arrest of the suspects, the police had solved the case.

He said the police had originally nabbed six suspects but had susbsequently released two. The four are in remand until Nov 4.
