Just to discuss... how does it affect us?
1.Singapore government's FY2009 budget deficit was S$2.9b
- So no $$ to handout?
2.Singapore govt unveils slew of tax reliefs for households
- those taking care of their parents and grandparents can expect greater tax relief of up to S$7,000.
- Wives who are taxpayers can also claim a spouse relief of S$2,000 - similar to the current scheme for husbands.
Can both working spouses claim this? Or either only?
- For the elderly, there will be a one-off top-up of the CPF-Medisave Accounts of older Singaporeans aged 50 and above.
So little $$... give like never give...
- children in primary school will get S$200 in their accounts while those between 13 and 20 years old will receive up to S$500.
How come dont't have $$ for pre-primary children?
3. Govt to introduce progressive property tax for owner-occupied residences
Simi lai ehh? Still need to pay property tax right?
4. S$2.5b to be spent over 5 years on workers training
5. Foreign worker levies to go up from July
Those SMB companies up lorry liaoo...
6. Govt to commit S$1.1b a year to back bid to raise productivity
Got other things I missed out?
in short, we dont get CASH right?
I'm ok with no cash given to us. Not all the time must expect them to give us money. But they want us to have kids then they better walk the talk by making sure ALL govt sector 'bosses' are fair with the policies. Some of them twist & mince it until it's not fair at all!
noting mention about subsidy for IVF????????????????
If I didn't remember wrongly those properties with less than $6000 (or $6500, I can't recall) pay 0% tax. Means no need to pay at all.
The next layer would be taxed at 4%.
I didn't go and remember the 6% one is how much because I think mine will be capped at 4%.
the Jobs Credit scheme no more arhhhh?
I think before the budget annoucement when the economy started to pick up, the govt said they will phase out the Jobs Credit scheme slowly.
anyway has economy picked up at all? I dunnn feel it yet lehhh only property market seems booming
Am I the odd one out? I rather they dont't give cash handouts. Each time after giving the handout, something will surely be raised, like electricity tariffs, erp, etc etc.
Probably they feel that parents of preschoolers already enjoy the childcare/infantcare subsidy of up to $600, hence no mention.
I know this is out of the topic stated above but...
Can they please give further priority to Married couples who have kid(s) when it comes to HDB balloting?
last time dunnn even have G.S.T. lOlzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Just wondering about the increase in foreign worker levies. They say maid no increase in levy but only foreign workers. Which industry hires the most foreign works? Construction. What happens when their costs go up? It gets pushed to the consumers. Which means we'll buy more expensive properties in the near future.
I think next time we will be like HK... Housing super small and super expensive.
in fact nowadays all houses are getting smaller and smaller
Maybe someone who is TTCing should become MP so that can voice out in Parliament about the difficulties couples have while TTCing and it's not that ppl dont wanna have kids!
They just get more $$ from these levies and gantries... but dont know where all these $$ go to...
Just like there's this female MP who used to speak alot about singles... but nowadays also no voice liaoo...
Our opposition also CMI.... nothing to say so far.... even have also nothing constructive... I bet they r just "active" for GE every 5 years.
