Re: We are trying to concieve-ing!

I've not been around here for quite sometime. I recently did surgery to remove endometrium polyps which caused bleeding non-stop. dont't have any luck this cycle. AF came yesterday which i suspected. I POAS few days before my expected AF (which i am expecting 28 days) but got negative. Glad that I POAS earlier, can't really sit on it and play guessing game. Yukki, msyoyo, now you have better piece of mind though bit disappointed? Try again next month. Oh ya, i have an article to share..but it's in chinese. An auntie posted an article that : 红糖生姜水 清辰空腹喝 and finally pregnant. Not sure how true is it..This auntie's daughter in law had m/c and tried for many years, still no news and the couples decided to drop the idea of keep on trying. At the same time, the daughter in law heard some grandma stories about this drink and after one month of trying finally conceive.
The auntie seek traditional chinese medicine advice on the rationale behind it and according to traditional chinese medicine, this is a treatment for cold womb. But not necessarily suitable for all ladies. well, her daughter in law conceived might be partly due to lesser stress since they decided to relax...later i see if i can attach here...

I ask my traditional chinese medicine if whether i should drink the red dates drink to keep myself warm. She tell me no first. Ask me to concentrate on her meds first.

Msyoyo i think going through polyclinic you will get referred to their panel docs and of course there will be better subsidy.

For me i went to glenE and Kandang Kerbau Hospital direct because i have my desired specialists.

I think the woman will get a series of tests. Blood test, scans at different part of your cycle (especially important to finding out if you ovulate). And men will be just SA, ie sperm analysis.

Re: We are trying to concieve-ing!

Mayoyo... I like what Dragontail mentioned you can go to polyclinic to get a referral letter to kk or singapore general hospital. Then your consultions will be subsidized.
For me, I find it a hassle to go to polyclinic so I called up singapore general hospital to make an appointment with OnG. After the first consultation with OnG, we will referred to CARE for IVF as we already did another fertility test before going to singapore general hospital. you n your hubby will need to go through a series of test before they will decide what is best for you. My first consultation was in Oct 13 n I was supposed to start IVF in February 14 but missed it as my husband genetic result was not out yet. I m starting my IVF next month.

Re: We are trying to concieve-ing!

Oh minty, ya now I kinda recall you're planning on ivf. So many ladies here now I really can't keep up. Ha.

Good lucky to your ivf. Btw do you know if you're doing the long or short protocol yet?

i reckon if I'm doing ivf as well, should be in April.

Re: We are trying to concieve-ing!

I on long protocol coz my tests stills that I m okay but hubby low sperm count. They say to try out long protocol to see how my body react n my dosage will not be too high as tests shows I have 18 eggs. Nurses told me to relax n dont think too much. I saw a private fertility doctor n she suggest IVF after the tests then went to singapore general hospital OnG n show them the results n the answer was the same. IVF was the answer, better go n try since govt is subsidizing. Dr says start now will have a good chance.

Sounds positive for you. You will get 2weeks hospitalisation leave after the transfer. Surely hope your company is supportive too!

Re: We are trying to concieve-ing!

I told my boss about it n she understand but most probably I will check with care if rest 1 week ok or not coz I read that keep lying on bed is not good too but before that I have to survive the injections first. Let's work hard together.

Re: We are trying to concieve-ing!

No need to lie in bed all the time during the HL. The 2weeks is to give your body a stress free period so that the embryo can implant nicely (at least a much higher chance compared to stressful days at work ). My sis even went out jalan during the leave. She is due in May14 from ivf.

    We are trying to concieve-ing!

O, I see. My boss already told me that once I start the process, I cannot carry heavy things n etc. I believe she as a mother of 2 understand what I will going through but I told her if I too stress or my mood swings then I will resign as this is my priority in life n not work at the moment.

I always find that this is the place where I can relax n talk all I want. It's just so nice with all of you around.

Re: We are trying to concieve-ing!

DT, no harm making this ginger tea which is usually to keep your body warm. Can also expel excessive winds in your tummy! ha ha..I made LRD + Tang shen few days before my AF without asking DrC. I'm feeling, not too heaty for me to drink together with DrC's medicine.

I've made appointment to see fertility specialist in Kandang Kerbau Hospital on 1st Mar. I just got to know that Dr Sadhana is the only female doctor in reproductive department. Msyoyo, if you or your hubby is sporean, then it's better to get referral letter from polyclinic. You will be then treated as subsidised patients This is what I understand from Kandang Kerbau Hospital's nurse today when i call in to make appointment. I am also looking at Dr Loh from Thomson Medical Center's rates. They have fertility screening promotion right now $498 (with GST). Pricing wise looks quite all right with the list of screening that they are going to do : Full Blood Count, Rubella, Hormonal Studies, SA, Hep B, you/s pelvic, Syphilis Test, HIV, review with specialist. Just wondering how much will cost in Kandang Kerbau Hospital if were to do the same test (if necessary?) without govt subsidised?

Another milestone to go Cherrie! DrS is very professional and pleasant lady. I usually like male docs but she is different!

yes times flies indeed. Yes the twins are doing well. Looking at their position, should be jiejie coming out first. But the prep work for their parents are quite a lot. Getting CL and an Indonesian helper. Bought 2 cots. Going to buy 2 baby car seats etc. So busy

Re: We are trying to concieve-ing!

All this while hubby prefers lady dr, so just follow what he wants since i dont't have preference.

Havin twins is not easy..lots of preparation and things to buy. Everything have to be a pair. What about the stroller? she will be getting twin stroller as well? well, i dont't mind to have twins..haha.. My colleague gave birth to a pair of twins last year July and now still on unpaid leave though she has a helper. DT, how many sis you have? Is this the sis who take leave next wed to accompany you to do hsg? your relationship with your sis is very close ..

Msyoyo, I have taken the subsidized route for all the Kandang Kerbau Hospital fertility checkup

you can look up my previous posts where I stated the test I did and the cost and savings as subsidized patient (from polyclinic).

I would say the waiting time is not very long.
My first appt at Kandang Kerbau Hospital is 8 jan 2014.

Yesterday 19 feb 2014, I received all the test results and had my second consultation with the Dr who go through my results
