Hi mummies , I was wondering if store breast milk in chill Plc how long can it last ?? N for freeze breast milk??
I used to gv dear son breast milk but those stored in chiller or freezer always throw away cos baby crying n ganchiong no time to froze or warm e breast milk.. I'll latch dear son... Straight lol..
Is there any advice ??
but hw to warm fast to gv baby milk???by e time tk out frm chiller then warm it baby think already cry for a while ...hais...
I used glass bottles (about 120ml size) from the hospital (Mt Alvernia). These are disposable bottles (1 time used) containing formula milk which the hospital nurses used to feed the FM babies. My gynae took about 40-50 bottles for me. My hubby cleaned the stickers outside the bottles and soak them in water before sterilising them. Then I'll use these to fill my breastmilk. Maybe you can try the hospital you delivered at?
Then I'll store them in the chilled section of the fridge & label the date and time of pumping. When I need it, I'll just take out one bottle and put it into a bowl of hot water or in my electric food warmer. It'll take 30seconds or so. If you need more than 120ml of breast milk, just take out 2 bottles and warm up concurrently. Then fill into a bigger bottle. This is my life for 2 years cos I do exclusive pumping and breast milk bottle feeding as my baby refused to latch on.
I know it'll be frustrating to even wait 5seconds to feed our little one. But if the baby has a fixed timing for feeding, it will be more helpful. Then you can warm up 10-15mins before feeding as you can leave the breastmilk in room temp for up to 1 hour.
For using frozen breast milk that is in plastic packet, I'll defrost it in the chilled section of fridge and then transfer the breast milk into these small bottles.
Hope this helps.
can we store our EBM into avent btle or any milk btle n put in e fridge?? Or is it better to store in those container or bag that is meant for storing milk??
Hi mummies, if i were to place in storage bags, how do i defroze them?
^I defrost by placing it in a running water OR putting it in the fridge a day before I'll be needing them
Similar to the way food stock is rotated in a supermarket, the newest milk should be placed in the back of the freezer where it is colder. You should thaw your breast milk quickly so as to avoid bacterial contamination. This is best done by placing the plastic container in warm water.
