Was at the Motherhood exhibition yesterday.. Walked pass Mumsfairy booth and they were selling this pump.. I wonder how's this pump? any mummy can give some review?
Ahhh.. Haha.. actually I dont't know what I wanna know..
First 1st time MTB.. have no idea about pumping breastmilk..
Since there are so many brands out there.. why do you choose Hygeia?
Hmm, I researched on breast pumps before I decided on 2 brands; ameda lactaline n hygeia. Chose hygeia as it is more hygenie in the environmental persay. The parts, all of them can be replaced with new ones so rat it can be used by another mum if I so decide to sell it away after I stop b/feeding my baby. hygeia allows The new mummy to use it to express milk without worrying on the 'cleanliness' of the milk since she can use all new parts while using the breastpump to express milk. Some other brands of breastpump doesn't have this features as if a mummy change some parts of the pump, she may risk compromising the cleanliness n safety of the expressed breast milk. On top of these, the price of this pump is more reasonable as compared to many other pumps.
The only 2 drawbacks or complains I've of it is that it is not as silent as some pumps as known. And the sound recording function may accidentally gets pressed on n sounded when I carry with me thus making it quite noisy n embarrassing for me.. Heh.. Other than this it really serve well as a pump for me..
what do you look for in a pump? If you need a good n basically a pump that let you express milk, hygeia enjoye is one of the good value for money pump to get
hope my shadmribgs helps you in deciding which pump to get.
I must add that the after sales service has so far been very good
Can msg me should you need to know more on this pump
Heeeheee.. Thanks for the info! erh.. but I've some more questions to ask.. =X
Do you experience back flow problem? The salesperson say can even rest at an angle to pump.. Coz I read some feedback of other brands pump need to bend forward alittle to prevent back flow into the tubings..
Is the pump force strong? I tested some unknown brands during the fair and their strongest doesn't seems to be as strong as those famous brands..
How many times do you sterilize the parts?
How frequent do you use the pump per day? coz I was thinking if I wanna store EBM I think need to pump quite alot of times (every ~2-3hrs) a day in the beginning to "build up the demand" right? So do you sterilize after every round of pumping?
Did you find the pump motor noise get louder as compared to brand new since you've already used it for few months already.. As the fair is very noisy it already covered up the pump noise.. can't really tell whether is this pump silent enough not to wake the baby up..
Most likely I'll be getting this pump from mumsfairy coz I find that their salepersons were not pushy and very friendly.. also their package price is quite good coz it include many things like the bag.. the hands free strap.. the cooler bag.. etc.. very tempting package compared to the well known brands..
Erhh.. the board put 599 (usually 699) includes a handbag for bringing the pump out.. a small cooler bag with 1 cooling pack.. 1 handsfree strap.. 1 hygeia pump with the components for dual pumping..
Medela has a similar package at 799..
Ameda was selling at 369 while another unknown swiss brand at 499 for just the dual pump and components only..
Avent has a package which includes a few non neccessary items at 800++..
So after some comparison.. I decided to go with Hygeia..
