My girl has just recovered from flu. But well, since last night fed her formula milk(usually give her fm during the night) till now her 2nd morning feed (suppose to warm up my breast milk but i was too tired), she has been drinking and spill some milk out from her mouth.
90ml of milk , she might only drink 50-60ml only. I am afraid she may not get enough nutrients as before. She was born pre mature @ only 2kg and now at 2mths + about 4.9kg.
Is time for me change her teats? formula milk? or??? HeLP. i get so pek chye when i see her spilling the milk out from her mouth yet she is hungry i supposed; her feeding time is up.
Please help mummies....
sometimes baby tends to do that..my son is 2 months old..he was drinking approx 80ml just 2 wks ago, now slowly up to 120ml (scary)..but these few days he was having only about 50-80ml..so far he seems ok..so i guess babies are like that..had been wasting ebm because of that.
fyi he is on full breast milk..so cant comment much about formula intake..
Since you said she just recovered from flu, she may not have recovered her appetite yet. Maybe she still has some nasal block or phlegm that is causing her to be uncomfortable during the need, thus she spill some milk out. Babies at this stage have an ability to adjust their body according to their needs and the environment, so dont't worry. If her body thinks she is not taking enough nutrients, it will naturally ask for more.
Quan also recovering from his flu and appetite is still not back not normal. Now he is contented with just one side of my breast. So dont worry ya
