I need some help here. Currently im stilll breastfeeding my 10mths old baby and i jus found out tat im pregnant. Can i still continue to breastfeed?

Congrats to u too! I saw my gynae n he told me its beta if i stop bf. Iszt true? how many mths r u pregnant now? Iszt really nt ok to bf?

don need to stop breastfeeding la.. i guess ur gynae isnt pro breastfeeding eh.. i know of alot of mummies who did tandem breastfeeding.

u can do reading up also online on tandem breastfeeding.

I was still nursing my 2 yr old (twice a day) in my 2nd trimester. My Gynae said it was ok. I just had to make sure I eat well - eat nutritious food.

Thanks for all e advices.... I jus had another concern... when u r stayin at e hospital after delivery, hw did u bf ur older child?

And for those who r tandem nursing, do u co-sleep with all of ur children?

Hi Mummies,

Just went for check up. Now 11th weeks le. Doctor also advice me not to bf my ds anymore. Sad....now having problem to stop bf ds!!

actually my gynae say no need to stop bf as long as u dont have contraction , cramps or spotting. but she did mention that the milk will get lesser and the taste will be diff. bb will automatically refuse bm. for me, i also had problem stoppin bb to latch on. let her cry 1 night. very persistant. today is the 3rd day she not latch on or drinkin bf le. but now im having prob tryin to wean off? very painful n swollen breast. even when carry bb also painful.

Hi Charbabe,

How many mths are you pregnant now and how much is your 10 mth old drinking from you? Finally how comfortable are you with bfg during pregnancy?

You might like to have a read and explore the possibility with your gynae. I know many mums who change their gynaes to a more supportive one just to bf during their pregnancies too. Utimately as a mother, you decide what is best for yourself, your child and your soon-to-be born child.

breastfeeding through pregnancy isn't the easiest thing but it can be done. As long as you can have s**, you can nurse your child.

I've breastfed through two pregnancies and my babies just kept getting bigger and bigger. So it kinda proves that my breastfeeding didn't harm the baby at least in terms of weight.

Read Adventures in Tandem Nursing. Its a really good resource and full of answers for the questions you're gonna have.
