[is baby sleeping in his cot beside your bed? he may be in need of a cuddle? if the room temperature right? Is he trying to burp as he may not have done so after his last feed?]My baby's almost 5mths old. in the past,he woke up once or twice in the night to feed. usually he will be bottle fed when i'm working in the day and i latch him on whenever i'm home. routine at night will be latching him for night feed before putting him to bed. then problems surface for the past 2 wks....
1. he has not been drinking much from the bottle in the day. either he cant finish the 150ml we give him or he doesnt cry for milk til 4-5hrs later.
[You need to ensure you give your baby bf milk in the bottle every 3 hours during the day to ensure his intake of milk is as required, otherwise at night he'll most likely be feeding more]
2. 2 nights ago i was out.even thou it was his bedtime,he just refused to sleep and it was the first time we see him cry so badly (we have done a cctv recording)....it's only an hr later that he finally fell alseep even thou i think that's due to him being too exhausted from all the crying. last night it happened again when i wasnt around to put him to sleep.
[he's used to you putting him to bed thus the tendency of him sleeping by himself is low, unless next time you have another person to put him into his bed while you're around]
3. he has been waking up at least 3 times every night for the past 2 wks or so.at first we thot he's hungry. but subsequently we realise that he may just be sucking for comfort. he will cry with tears rolling even thou eyes are not opened. he will suckle on one side for ~10min then fall asleep each time.we try pacifier but it didnt work. we think it's becoming habitual for him to suckle this way. how to break??
big big problem for hubby and i cos it's really affecting our sleep.....
