Sometimes it could be becos there are wind in the stomach and when baby suckle, the milk will be on top of the wind then when you burp the baby, the wind will push the milk out too. Another possiblility could be that you burp her too fast before the milk can reach the stomach so the burping force the milk to be spit out again. For me, what I did is try to burp the baby before the feed, then allow the baby is lay in my arm, (sitting up position with support on his chin) for a little while before burping. Is your baby gaining weight well. If he/she isn't, then you may want to consult a PD. When I was a baby, according to my mum, I literally thrown out the whole bottle of milk after drinking each time. Eventually was cured after seeing dr and took some medi. |

Rep Power: 0 Reputation: 10 | Re: Help!!Baby keeps spitting up after every feed my baby is 6 weeks and she also has a tendency to spit up after some feeds. She is on total breastmilk though most of the time she is fed via bottle rather than breast coz she only learnt to latch on recently and is not keen to try many times at the breast a day. Although she may not spit up for a feed, sometimes she looks like she wants to puke and looks very uncomfortable coz she's trying to keep her milk in. I feel so upset to see her suffering but dun really noe what to do. Already tried delayed burping and holding her for some time b4 putting her down but sometimes 2-3mouths of milk still gets spat out after putting her down. |

Rep Power: 0 Reputation: 10 | The freq and amt of vomitting varies from infant to infant. Generally, as long as it's not a LOT of vomit it's ok. Doc told me infant's intestinal track is short, that's why tends to throw up, some can keep doing it up to about 2 mths. I remember for my elder son, we used to spend up to an hour burping him, and still he would throw up after that! For the first month I think. With second son I heard that totally breastfed babies actually don't need to be burped, so I tried not doing it, and guess what, the freq of throwing up was not too different! |

U can oso try to burp the bb half way thru the feed. Tat is wat we were taught to do by LC when I had my 1st bb. So long bb is not throwing out too much then it is okay. My 5 wk old bb now oso can wake up half way of sleep to spat out a mouthful of milk then go bk to zzz... He is on total direct latch....

Rep Power: 0 Reputation: 10 | Re: Help!!Baby keeps spitting up after every feed I've been latching her for the past 3 days and for some reason she has been vomitting out her last feed before she sleeps at nite. It looks like all that she drank in that hour or so came out and she would then want to have more but my breasts have already been emptied by her. I suspect it may be due to some food that caused her phlegm to worsen lately which in turn caused the vomitting. What food/fruits should i avoid in order not to worsen her phlegm problem? |

Rep Power: 1 Reputation: 10 | Re: Help!!Baby keeps spitting up after every feed It could be a case of reflux. My eldest child had this in his early years. We sent him to see PD coz we couldn't bear to see him smeared with his own vomit almost everytime after being fed. PD told us to feed him in small amounts first. So we fed him a bit, stopped to rub his back and continued feeding again. PD also recommended Enfalac range (can't remember which specific Enfalac fm) If you read the tin of milk, it mentions about reflux on babies. Due to it's more concentrated texture, helps the milk to stay longer in the tummy, therefore, lesser throwing up from bb. I did what i was told and at that time i breasfed and also put bb on fm. |

if ur wife is alr exhausted, it'll affect her supply. she'll b stressed also if knowing bb little underwt. when bb getting better alr, then increase bm, reduce fm. it's nv too late.
