I prefer to bring my kids to poly first for simple sickness like flu. Unless I know that poly meds won't work for them I bring them to KidsLink Children's Clinic at Jurong East. The doc is very patient and really explains everything in detail. But it burns a hole in my pocket everytime. Almost to $100 for every visit. But it's worth bcos he is very detailed. If I can afford I dont't mind , if not heart pain siah.
Now since my son developed sensitive airways, bring him to the pediatrician is not cos t effective for me. I went to a gp on recommendations. He is good too. My son was coughing non stop for 3 MONTHS! This gp just gave one jab and overnight he was so much better. He managed to get some peaceful sleep without coughing. He is from Straits Clinic. Very old but can see got good stream of regular. Since my son's cough is manageable.
***** I have realised that TEARS convey more than what WORDS can ever say *****
my little girl normally go to kinderclinic at paragon, and they've been great! But I just realised every time we go there, we spend over $150 inc. medicine.
Where is the Singapore Baby and Child Clinic AMK branch located?
I went to Dr.Sim at Elias Pasir Ris. It's the only paedi here, so far so good
dear son used to see Dr Y Y Yip at Singapore Baby and Child when he was born at Gleneagles. Also because he is premature and Dr Yip specialises in neonates. Dr Yip is very gentle and softspoken...nice doctor...
But when dear son is about 1, we changed to the GP near my mom's house, because there was once dear son fell sick on a weekend, and SBCC was closed
From then on, dear son has been seeing this GP...He is Dr Tan Ee Ju at Toa Payoh 1 ...a very detailed and gentle doctor too. He has 4 kids of his own, so he is also able to give advice on what food to take or avoid when dear son is sick.
My dear daughter's pediatrician is Dr allyson tan of kid's clinic @ Seng Kang Rivervale Mall. She is detailed and attentive. Just that the fees are not cheap and Qs are long. The clinic opens at 9am, the Q starts forming at 830am. Every visit there costs me around $70.
I dont recommend going to GP for infant under 1 year old. My sister In law had bad experiences with the GP on the dosage of medicine given ( overdose) luckily things turn out ok in the end, but it definitely scare the life out of her. I personally like Ng Pau Ling (pediatrician) at MT A
Anyone able to recommend a Paedatrician near Tanjong Pagar Area?
we go to dr. koh poh kian in singapore baby and child clinic at ang mo kio town center. since i'm not from here...just wondering...is it normal for PDs here not to thoroughly check babies every time there's a check-up? dr. just check his tummy, gives jabs and answeres our questions. is it really the way things are done here? i'm a bit worried because we have a monthly check-up int the philippines and doctor thoroughly checks everything (weight, height, heartbeat, etc.)
but dr is really good. very kind and patient.
We also bring our kids to our family GP... the GP is at Clementi (Dr Edmund Lie).... even my baby..... so far so good....
If need to, will be Dr Chiam S P at Mount E.
i bring her to my family GP.
he used to specialise in babies.
so far so good.
i used to see him when i was young.
haha. so he charges us cheaper for injections.
Used to go ABC Clinic at Hougang. But I dont like the fact that he only opened on certain nights, and the queue in the mornings was long, so I gave up.
We now visit Bishan Peadiatric which is available on most nights and even sunday mornings too. However, now that my kids are older, I dont bring them to pediatrician each time they fall sick. Will usually visit the GP near my place who seems good with children. It's only when the cough gets really bad and doesnt go away with medication or when they get persistent fever with diarrhorea, then I'll bring them to pediatrician or Kandang Kerbau Hospital.
full time working mum with 3 kids (8yo, 6yo and a toddler born in Oct 2009)
My pediatrician is Dr Vanessa Tan @ Kidslink Seng Kang. She is very patient & my girls love her! The clinic assistants are very friendly & helpful too!
If you need a good dentist for your children, Dr Rashid Tahir @ The Kids Dentist (Camden Medical Centre) is simply great! His clinic so fun, the girls look forward to their dentist visits...
My friend also brought her baby to a GP but ended up in the hospital cos the dosages by the GP were too strong! I refused to bring my girls to GP when they are below 2 years old! Even for GP, I will only bring them to a trusted one & not just any clinic...
yes i agree not bringing infant to a GP. my baby was 6wks old when he had his first cough and it was so bad that we cldnt ignore it. it was eve of new year n his pediatrician was closed so no choice brought him to a 'children friendly' GP. i was quite puzzled when he cld prescribe baby cough mixture. only to realise later from my pediatrician that the cough mixture was meant for asthmatic kids n baby was not asthmatic. no wonder baby leg vibrated badly after the medication. so no more GP for us!
our pediatrician is Dr. Ho from Australia Clinic at Upp Thomson and seen since Mt. Alvernial (baby's birth). so far satisfied with him, old but experience chap and charges about $50 each visit.
I used to visit KIDSLINK CHILDREN'S CLINIC located at jrg east. pediatrician Dr. lucky Joo Teck. He is very good pediatrician and will explain every detail to parents. The consultation fees is reasonable to me but not sure as for now. I'm stop seeing him now as my boys oredi grown up. Now visit my family doc for any illness.
My two older kids used to go to Kinderclinic located at Siglap/Parkway Parade. Was initially attended by Dr Rhonda Watt. She was extremely nice and amicable but her stint at the clinic stopped until my second child turned 1.5yo. Her colleague Dr Vas continued to review my second child's development. But she was not approachable.
With 3rd baby, she has been checked by Dr Zainal Muttakin. Soft-spoken doc and he shares good info. He has a new clinic at Rivervale Plaza, Sengkang now.
My pediatrician is Dr Terence Tan from Kinderclinic, Mt Alvernia. if my gals are sick during the day, will go to mt alvernia. if not will visit holland grove branch @ nite. seen dr gong frm kinderclinic @ gleneagles too. not bad too.
