The pediatrician here told me to increase my girl's meal intake to 3meals a day at 9mths old but then i ahven done so yet as she started to wake up later in the morning! she used to wake up at 7.30am everyday so its easy to introduce 3 meals but recently, she has been waking up at 9-10am... after i prepare her food, its already 11am-12pm .. breakfast time already over.. anyone has the same problem? in this case, any recommended schedule for her to take her 3 meals or jsut skip it till she changes her sleeping pattern again? i dont like to purposely wake her up early in the morning jsut for this...
**btw, her sleeping time at night has been the same 9.30pm. i didnt make her sleep later. its just that she wakes up n play sometimes in the middle of the night for bout 1hr or so thus needs more sleep i suppose...
huh really ?? hmm.. i wanna move her to 3 meals but then it seems so hard cos she wakes up so late.. i try to make her sleep at 8.30pm so she can wake up at 7.30am(hopefully) but then... end up she wake up 3plus am to play till 5plus am then sleep till 9plus am again.. faint.
hmm now jumpy's timing becomes similar to alicia.. she wakes about 9am then nap around 2pm.. only 1 nap a day.. but then she goes to bed as usual at about 9-9.30pm... she dosent need milk when she wake up so once she wakes, i start cooking and give her the first meal of the day.. then another time around 6pm.. dont wanna feed her too late since she sleeps early. sometimes i feed her at 7pm if hubby comes home early and we goes for dinner early... so for the past week, i have not been taking lunch! cos usually she nap 11am then i go take shower.. then she wake up around 12-1pm so i can have lunch. now that she wakes up late and nap late, i cant eat lunch! by the time she wakes up already 3-4pm..(she dosent nap as long as alicia though). usually 1hr+ a little..
**actually i can squeze in time to shower if i want since she can play alone lol. jsut not that motivated haha
i thought baby over a your takes their nutrients from solids and not milk thus its better to enforece 3 meals before jumpy turns one.. she is coming 10mths in few days heh. i hope she can get back her 'early bird' schedule soon...but also, it will mean i cant sleep as much as now lol. now i can get a 12hrs sleep cos i sleep soon after her lol

true. total amt of night sleep more than alicia hehe. but then.. got to take into consideration she wakes up and play for 1-2hrs sometimes at night.. hai~. hmm i read that also but then the book just say 'your baby might prefer to have milk when he/she wakes'. jumpy never ask so i never give hehe. cos i usually feed her once around 5.30am. then again around 8.30am.. then she will sleep again and wake up 1.5hrs later so i dont give her milk again since the previous milk feed is so near...If she totally dont wake up till morning then i will give her milk since so many hours no milk.. actually .. i realise she 5.30am also not hungry .. i tried jsut transferring her to our bed n she started playing till she fell asleep n totally never come to me for milk! even in the early morning after that she dosent come to me for milk! she like forever wont hungry one . dont know she wake for what in that case...
actually when i just started her with solids, all books says to give half milk and half solid at first but some says give milk first and some says give solid first i also confuse.. but end up i give milk first but 1hr before her solid.. cos i tried giving milk first and she not hungry for solid, give solid first and she not hungry for milk.. so.. thinking that milk is more impt for her during her 1st your but yet want her to take solid, i give her milk 1hr prior to solid ...hehe

hmm, ya, some sources say feed milk first then solids and others say the opposite. For me, i usually feed her solids first then when she starts rejecting then i give milk. She seems to be always able to drink milk after the solids...
ya those books so confusing.. i give milk first cos i rather she not hungry for solid(just take some). since milk is more impt ..
no 10hrs no milk i sure give lol. milk is still the most impt diet in her life at the moment.. solid i give, she dont take nvm i give milk also.. recently she wakes up many times a night dont know y.. 12am plus, 3am plus, 5.30am, 7.30am.. like almost every 2 hours but not hungry.. cos i carry her out of cot she wanna escape n not looking for my breast! sometimes i just throw her on our bed n then i sleep n she will sleep after playing for sometime.. end up only around 5.30am i give her milk or sometimes i skip that even n give her around 8am.. buay tahan her...
My gal is 7mths +. As i am working, i had no choice but to put her through a proper feeding schedule. My nanny also follows this closely.
This is how i do.
5-6am- Milk feed[180-210ml] depends on her mood
8-9am- breakfast [ Initially i woke her up to give this meal. As time went by now she wakes up automatic for this meal.
11plus- One milk feed [ drinking amt varies 90-120ml]
9plus- milk feed
If neccesary then 12am one more feed
As i started to follow this strictly, somehow or rather, my baby got used to it. Thus her waking up in between at nights is rather not frequent.
And its easier also for me to get some sleep at night.
meaning she dont wake up at night now?
your schedule looks so ideal! i hope i can follow that schedule too.. actually my girl sure wakes up around 7.30-8am cos hubby wakes up n prepare for work... his alarm clock sure wakes my girl.. but sometimes i let her sleep more since she looks super sleepy.. i just put her on my bed n monitor her. if she fell asleep within 1hr i will let her sleep. if not i will bring her out to living rm to start her day... if she stays awake from that time then she will be able to have 3 meals a day but if not.. she will wake up again at 9.30-10.30am which will be too late for 3 meals...
hope her schedule stabilise soon...
Yes her waking in between has been reduced. Of course there are days where she will refuse her lunch / dinner. But i still give her at least some small portion of solids.
It took me roughly about 1-2 mths to establish this pattern. Of course sometime when we go out the mid morning/ evening meal may get skipped.
But i ensure that she at least gets her bfast , lunch and dinner.
Its very tough though !!
yea exactly... actually i dont cook for myself thus need to go out for my lunch n dinner making her meal times more difficult.. like.. when she wakes up from her noon nap, its time for my lunch so i go out for it but when i come back n start cooking, its past her lunch time! so i usually just give her breakfast n dinner.. lunchtime seems a bit hard to catch..
annie, how about simpler meals for her in the morning?
like cereal with fruits?
then maybe can add in tea time? like a small snack like fruits/crackers?
im thinking of it also.. actually.. right now i usually give her cereal with fruits in the morning around 10-11am.. then she nap at noon n wake up around 2pm.. then i need to go for my lunch.. come home already 3-4pm.. if i prepare porridge at this time then it will be too late for her dinner(usually dinner at 6-7pm cos she sleeps at 9pm .. cant feed dinner too close to bedtime right?
now i try to let her snack on biskuits when im out for my lunch.. then give her only breakfast n dinner.. i wonder the snacks on biskuits can be consider as one meal or not hehe.
i was thinking maybe i try to introduce her bread soon.. then can give her bread as breakfast n some fruits? so she can self feed while i take my own breakfast.. so wont waste so much time (usually i eat my breakfast before making her food n feed her).
i calculated.. she needs to have her lunch around 2pm latest so that she will be hungry enough for her dinner(4hrs later). but if i give her lunch at 2pm, it means i have to go for my lunch as late as 3-4pm! her lunch time n my lunch time crash man....
im going crazy man.. i dont know if my girl dosent like porridge or what but she has been refusing to eat for a few days.. she eats her snacks n can finish her oatmeal cereal but porridge she only takes a few mouth!
but then.. what can i replace with porridge?? cannot give her cereal every meal .. finger food? dosent seem like a meal.. i usually give her finger food as snack.. her 3 meals i will spoon feed. have not try macaroni.. maybe buy that and try ...do we need to chop the macoroni to very small pcs?
