I think cereals alone may not be enough nutrition for a 11 month old. How about adding an egg yolk a day to his cereals? Egg yolk is very nutritious and can be eaten daily for babies. Just cook a hard boiled egg and mash the egg yolk. You can eat the egg white yourself :-) (egg white is best introduced to baby after 1 yr old).
Actually porridge is not that hard to cook. Get a slow cooker from ntuc, put water, rice, carrots, minced meat etc and let it cook for 1.5 hours or so and that's it. Grocery shopping wise i only do it once a week. I will portion out the meat/fish etc and freeze them. My boy never fancy eating cereals of all type. Take a few mouths only will give me the gagging face but for porridge he can eat 1 full rice bowlful for a meal, sometimes even more.
Think you've got to start intro porridge or other food soon cos after 1 year old, milk and cereals are not enough for a baby especially when he starts walking. Understand that it's not easy for you since you are now heavily pregnant. A slow cooker is good cos you dont have to 'watch the fire' to cook the porridge. Just off the switch when time is up or you can also get a timer switch to off the cooker automatically while you catch a nap or attending to your boy. There's a thread somewhere about ways to cook porridge using slow cooker I think... Jia you!! :-)
