pediatrician commented dear daughter is turning orange, what other food should i stop giving other than pumpkin, butternut and carrot?
what bout orange fruit like apricot, can continue to give?
Avoid sweet potato too
basically all orange colored food shld stop till the orange-ness goes away.
Anything that is orange or yellow - carrots, sweet potato, pumpkin, squash, papaya, peach, apricot. Focus more on fruits and veg that are high in Vit A or beta carotene as that is responsible for turning your little one orangey.
what bout food / veg like peas which is high in vit A but is not an orange/yellow food? still can give??
Peas are ok.
The main thing that is causing the "orange-ness" is beta carotene
Avoid orange/yellow veg/fruits... dont't worry too much about it actually. Overdose of beta carotene from natural foods doesn't pose any health risks.. My daughter used to love papaya so much that every now and then she turned a little orange... after you stop giving the orange foods, the orange hue will take some time to clear.
it has been 2 weeks since i stopped giving her any yellow/orange veg and fruits, but her palms are still organy-looking!
on top of that her diarrhoea which has been going on for the past 2 weeks is not getting any beta, and her fever is like yoyo, the number on the thermometer goes up down up down.
Saw pediatrician twice but he didnt say anything, just give med according to the symptoms we described to him..... -_-'
mummies, do you have any pediatrician to recommend??... btw, this is the same pediatrician who said he cant do anything when my baby fell and cut her face with the metal hair clip and was bleeding then....
Errr... If you wanna see my pediatrician you can PM me. But you gotta wait sometimes if he has to go to attend to emergencies.
Do be careful. Carrots lower blood pressure. So even though they are healthy, cannot give young children too much of it.
