yes of course. I have 3 kids age 8, 6, and 2 months. I had a helper for 5 years, and now on my second one for 3 months. My first helper had bad BO, hair that reached her hips, had her handsfree set in her ear 24 hours, while she cooked, loaded the washing machine, cleaned the house etc. always chatting away. she had a few boyfriends and one even called my handphone repeatedly when she didnt want to take his calls. I was not thrilled but i tolerated all this because she did her job well. To me, a helper is human and not perfect. I am not perfect in my boss's eyes, so surely i cannot expect my helper to be perfect or know my requirements perfectly. She left after 5 years to look after her family in indonesia. My current helper is fillipino but her english is quite poor, so i repeat my instructions 3 times every time. But she is very careful with her work, which means she is very very slow but at least she won't break anything!! She looks cheerful, smells great and tries her best. So I guess i will just live with her too.
i think we should count ourselves lucky. if i could not have a maid, i may have to put one or more of my kids in childcare, which is very bad for the kids. Else, i may have to stop work and watch my kids myself, which i really really dont want to.
