my confinement nanny was from msia. the confinement fees was S$1700. she came afew hours after i was dischaged from hospital. i gave her my address and she came herself. we gave her a S$28 ang pow when she first came.
we already had an extra bed at home in one of my bedrooms. she slept there together with the baby cot. i didnt get any new mattress or bedsheets for her. just let her use whatever we have there (i mean the old mattress n bedsheets). for your nanny, mayb you can let her know first, before she come, you dont have a bed for her.. some might mind..... in such cases, mayb you want to consider getting her a cheap bed or sofa bed or something?
i told her she can use our toiletries (she showered twice everyday), eat whatever we have in the fridge.. watch the tv but provided she has finished her work.. she handwashed all her clothes everyday.. she even asked if she can go downstairs for a short walk (not every day though) becoz she is not used to stay at home everyday.. i allowed her to do so in the evening after she had cooked dinner.. she asked to call home a few days after she came, to check on her kids. she need not do any marketing becoz she was not familiar with this area.. sometimes my mum or my hubby will do the marketing. if she needs something extra, usually she will tell us. as she has to prepare meals for my hubby, she just cooked abit more so that she herself can eat.. but usually she helped me to finished my leftover confinement food coz i didnt eat much.
i didnt give her any transport fees when she has to go back. i think we gave her another s$28 when she left. overall she's ok..
