My boy is born with congenital clubfoot and in the past, they have recommended surgery to release the tendon for my boy. The method is known as ponseti method. According to the specialist, it is a relatively safe procedure and the child leg will be cast upto a month to correct the position of the ankle. I understand that the tendon can grow back and the healing process is quite fast. My boy eventually did not go for the procedure. As he was only an infant, the just cast the foot to the right position for about 3 months and now he is walking normally.
May I know how old is your child and why do they recommend this treatment to your child.
